THE VERDICT:
Out of the 5 MAC Archie's Girls products that I had asked my mother to buy for me in Hong Kong, this was the only one she got. It wasn't really my priority as it was number 5 on the list-I just wanted a new colored eye liner, but you know, it was something I could let go. Oh well! But when I tried it on, I was pretty amazed at how wonderful the Pearlglide Eye Liner is! This is something from MAC that you should try. That is, if you love colored eye liners.
MAC PEARLGLIDE INTENSE EYE LINER IN PETROL BLUE IN DETAIL
Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner is described by MAC's official website as a soft, creamy eye pencil in luxurious colors laced with shimmer and sparkle and in a Long- wearing Smudge- proof formula. It comes in 7 other colors, and Petrol Blue is part of the permanent line.
I was just lucky enough to get it in the limited edition Archie's Girls packaging, but the regular shiny, black packaging is equally gorgeous too.

Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner has the solid quality of a regular eye pencil and the texture of Kajal: It's very smooth and creamy, but you don't feel that the tip's gonna break as you line your eyes. It doesn't need to be warmed up as it just transfers effortlessly upon skin contact.
Petrol Blue is a mix of Indigo, Royal Blue, and Navy Blue-it kinda' reminds me of denim. It has Royal Blue shimmer that makes it sparkle.
MAC PEARLGLIDE INTENSE EYE LINER IN PETROL BLUE IN ACTION
Two layers of Petrol Blue
I find that this shade is a chameleon: It appears darker on medium and dark- skinned ladies, but the Indigo shade appears prominent on fairer skin tones. Nonetheless, it comes out beautifully and gives eyes a striking pop of color. You only need one layer to get a vibrant finish as it's ridiculously pigmented. Sometimes, I even use this as a cream eyeshadow as it sets efficiently, giving me enough time to blend it. The flecks of shimmer stay put and they don't fall into my eyes so that's a huge plus for me. It stays intact the whole day and doesn't smudge, but only if you apply no more than two layers-I tried applying three layers once and it smudged for a wee bit around mid- afternoon. I think it doesn't set properly if you pile it on. Well, it's pigmented anyway so I don't think you won't be needing more than two layers!
I like this thing because it's an easy substitute for eyeshadow, and it doesn't look flat and boring. I have very oily lids and it worked decently on me, so I would suggest it to girls with the same concern as mine. I know some people would choke on a P1,000.00 eye liner, but ah, the texture, quality, and finish are pretty much worth it! I have a couple of MAC eyeliners and they last for a long time!

Wow Archie design is so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteI never knew you can put eyeliner below hehehe well that looks
good on you , perfect for the night I think Ms. M?
I can not shell out 1k for eyeliner though.
Whoa! Intense color pay-off!
ReplyDeleteI love the color payoff! And it doesn't smudge so no need to apply primer.
ReplyDeleteI find this similar to Face Shop's colored pencil, they have similar texture and pigmentation. I guess the difference is that the Face Shop liner tends to smudge especially when you have oily lids.
I love colored liners! :) They make any look interesting and fun.
ReplyDeleteBrownOso: Same! But always, I prefer black. Well, it wouldn't hurt to try something new :)
ReplyDeleteAnne: Thanks for that. I will check that out. :)
Pau: Indeed! :)
Stephanie: Thanks dear. :) Yeah, same here. I would only splurge on an eyeliner if I really, really, really like it. :)
Let me know what you think of this post! :)
