 THE VERDICT:

Jewel tones are normally promoted and used during the Fall/Winter months, but Estēe Lauder thought that it would look great in Summertime too and it does! I'm reviewing today these two new summer releases from Estēe Lauder: Pure Color Envy Sculpting Gloss and Double Wear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner; not only do their colors look great for Summer, their staying power is great for Summer, too!

ESTĒE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR EYELINER IN BLACKENED EMERALD AND PURE COLOR ENVY SCULPTING GLOSS IN THRILLING FLAME IN DETAIL

The lip gloss promises to shape, sculpt, and magnify lips with a stroke of a wand; multi- dimensional optics help create a more volumized lip; moisturizes and hydrates with buildable color; comes in the following finishes: Shine and Shimmer.

The eyeliner promises lasting coverage for up to 24 hours; use as liner or smudge with the rubber tip for a smoky look; comes in 10 shades.

The eyeliner, disintegrated; it's a sleek, 'easy on the grip' automatic eyeliner; thank God this one returns into the barrel; the newer auto pen eyeliners aren't retractable anymore and I hate that. :p The rubber tip is a nice addition, but I find that it's a little rough and tugs my eyelid skin; your finger will suffice to blend the eyeliner.

Blackened Emerald is a deep forest green with green shimmer; eyeliner is creamy and sets efficiently; if you wish to blend it, you should do so quickly because it won't budge when it finally sets.

Let's check out the lip gloss; Estēe Lauder said that this wand is specially designed to 'hug' the lips for a more precise application; its shape is optimized to fit almost any lip shape for a more precise color application; claim's pretty legit.

Blackened Emerald on upper lash line

For classic girls like me who want to sport discreet colored eye liner on the eyes, this suits our taste! Blackened Emerald complements warm skin tone perfectly.

Staying power for this product is very good; it lasts the whole day with ignorable fading; didn't experience smudging with this product as well.

Thrilling Flame is a warm fuchsia shine gloss with violet-blue micro shimmer.

In my opinion, Estēe Lauder has one of the best lip gloss formulas; it's sticky, but not the irritating kind and it's prolly the longest lasting (and the shiniest as well) gloss there is; we have to thank their sticky formula for that. This lip gloss feels so plush on the lips, the kind that makes you pout just because you feel sexy; despite its sticky formula, it ain't heavy and color coverage is even, plus the shine is impressive! Estēe Lauder said that this one yields sheer to medium color and I don't think so; look how pigmented that gloss is! I can't imagine how pigmented their more pigmented lip glosses are! Staying power for this one is good and fades gradually and it has a light caramel scent (yum!).

Both products give you color for summer, but not the bright, teeny bopper kind so it's good for you if you're way past the neon/pastel/candy trend already but would still want a hint of color in your look, plus staying power for both is pretty good for summer too. Now which one would you like to try? The gloss or eyeliner?

  1. I like how the lip gloss gives a nice glossy finish with a solid color on it and looks evenly distributed on your lips. The shade is pretty too(^-^)

  6. I love the fact that it has micro blue violet shimmers in it! It adds a signature to your look! Plus the caramel scent!! Hmmm seems yummy I might apply and re-apply to often if that would be the case. Haha. The eyeliner color is nice because it's not the typical black but it has a hind of dark green which is good for day and night, and of course for morena skins! :))
I will definitely save more to splurge myself with these kind of make up, so that I can satisfy my crave for makeup!! Hihi

  8. I have a liner similar to this but it has silver shimmers. But I must say no to the lippies 'cause I hate it when my hair flies to my lips and it is stuck on there like... eww. Lip glosses are just not my thing but the shade is lovely!
