I've found the perfect holiday makeup set and it's Sleek's new Rockstar Makeup collection. Strobing, metals, and shimmer have been all the rage last year and I feel that it will still be hot in the coming months of 2017 so if you want to try your hand on strobing, Sleek's fantastic, affordable range called Rockstar will definitely be a good start.
SLEEK MAKEUP ROCKSTAR COLLECTION IN DETAIL
This collection features high shine metals in rich textures for goddess- like look and feel.
The collection features I- Lust Eyeshadow palette, and Strobing Souffle. The Highlighting Palette in Cleopatra's Kiss is an independent product though.
I-Lust comes in the shade called Diamond In The Rough; it features two cream and 4 powder formulas in shimmer and metal finishes.
L-R, swatched according to the order of the palette: Solitaire, Trillion, Princess, Asscher, Marquise, Radiant
Solitaire: icy silver (Cream shimmer)
Trillion: pale gold (powder shimmer)
Princess: peach gold (powder shimmer)
Asscher: champagne (powder metallic)
Marquise: pale copper (powder metallic)
Radiant: light gold (cream shimmer)
The powders have a smooth, even finish; the sparkly finishes of the products are rich and never patchy. Pigmentation is medium to heavy.
Sleek's Highlighting is what everyone in the Beauty world has been raving about because it's a Strobing lover's secret weapon; the new Cleopatra's Kiss palette contains 4 highlighting shades in cream and powder finishes. I can't get enough of the sassy gold compact too! Who would ever think that it's around 800 pesos only!
L-R: Sphinx and Goddess (Powder); Dynasty and Delta (Cream)
Sphinx- Metal bronze
Goddess- champagne shimmer
Dynasty- light gold shimmer
Delta- gold bronze
This highlighting kit is what I've been using a lot lately due to the variety of finishes and textures it offers; the powders have a dry yet smooth texture and the creams have the right slip to them without being too greasy; pigmentation is medium to heavy.
Strobing Souffle is for those who love using cream highlighters; not only that, it's a multitasking highlighting product that can be used on the lids, chin, tip of the nose, and lids as well; it's very travel- friendly and I bring this when traveling. It comes in the shades Pink Opal and Smoky Quartz and I have Smoky Quartz.
Smoky Quartz is a gold shade; it looks like a fine, metallic cream strobing product, but when I spread the product on the skin, I discovered that there are glitters in the formula; it's not really ideal for strobing, especially on oily skin or skin with enlarged pores due to the glitters.
SLEEK MAKEUP ROCKSTAR COLLECTION IN ACTION
Dynasty mixed with Sphinx
Sleek's highlighting palette creates spotlight effects on the face that don't look fake and glittery; shimmer is just right and lifts the face in all angles.
Diamonds In The Rough gives us the right shimmery look for a dazzling gaze; it looks really nice up close or from afar. The shimmer effect is not overwhelming and in fact, I think it gives a youthful touch to any makeup look!
Strobing Souffle, to me, is better used as a highlighter for the lids or tip of the nose, or any part of the place where you don't need to spread the product because of the glitter content in it. It looks best if it's in a concentrated spot.
Overall, this is a wonderful collection of dazzling makeups; if you want to try strobing or exploring shimmer/metal makeup, opt for this kit! I highly recommend the eyeshadow palette and most especially, the highlighter kit!
