Real Techniques Makeup Sponge Review: Really good!

Here's a review on Real Techniques Makeup Sponge.

PRICE: P480.00
FROM: Watsons, SM Megamall
OTHER LOCATIONS: Available in Watsons and SM Department Stores

THE VERDICT:

I'm way too late in the game, but heck, I still want to know why Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is one of the cult favorite makeup sponge products along with Beauty Blender.

So while waiting for a meeting to start, I wandered around SM Megamall and found myself in no less than Watsons. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge caught my eye and without batting an eyelash, I picked it up and paid for it; high time that I find out what the hype is for.

After a week of usage, I can say that I'm so thankful that I found myself in Watsons that day and picked up this sponge; the buzz is real, this is a really affordable and really good sponge!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is intuitively designed to apply base on all corners of your face with precision.

On one side, there's the brand initials carved on the body of the sponge, a sign of an authentic Real Techniques product. I'm pretty sure that the counterfeit versions more or less bear this feature already so I advise you to purchase directly from an authorized retailer to guarantee that your product is genuine.

The flat top is for applying liquid product on the corners of the face; can be used effectively in baking makeup as well.

The pointed side is for concealing the tightest corners like the lower lash line, lids, and side of the nose.

The rounded, middle portion is for buffing foundation on the biggest parts of the face.

I like how playful the color of this sponge is. It is incredibly soft, but still has some form of sturdiness to it. Beauty Blender is softer, but RT has much more form and solidness to it.

I used my super thick KVD Lock It Foundation to test Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

The part where I used RT looks much more natural and pressed on properly onto the skin, but you still see the coverage. I did not have a hard time using the sponge because as I said, it's soft and gentle enough for my grip and solid enough to spread my foundation effectively. Also, no rubbery smell and it dries up quickly after rinsing and no crumbling!

I read some reviews saying that this is not as sturdy as Beauty Blender. We'll find out after a few uses. I'll update this post.

I'm glad I got Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge; one of my best purchases in a while. I'm actually lemming for a new Beauty Blender, but thankfully, RT has saved me a couple of bucks! Will surely repurchase!

  1. Yay! I can say that this is a good investment because I, myself personally love it! It’s not the typical BB that leaves a rubbery smell on the face. 😊 I love real techniques’ makeup tools! They are worth every cent! Never read a single review that disagree with this product. 💕

  2. This is one of my favorites! :) I actually got a pack of 4 a while ago so I'm good to go for quite some time :D I do like the original beauty blender but this is pretty much just as good as the bb. Also, I would say this one is sturdier than the beauty blender actually!

  3. I'm quite new in this whole makeup thing and one of the things that I always read or watch are beauty blender sponges. Since I don't have that big budget yet for an original beauty blender, I decided to buy first a cheaper one from Watsons, but not this brand. Hehe. But I have a question, how to effectively clean sponges like this? Thanks Ms Martha!

  4. I haven't tried RT or the Beauty Blender for me it's pricey but I know the quality is worth for the price. Anyways, hope you could do a side by side comparison to the MissBellaPh one..it is few pesos cheaper than that, I really wanted to buy one. Thanks Ms. M

  10. I love RT sponges! I ended up buying the set, I forgot what it was called but it has the tiny sponges and the pink one then 2 of these orange sponges. And it's true, they break after a certain amount of usage and time. But I still love them and it's cheaper than Beauty Blenders too.
