PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: GIVENCHY PHENOMEN'EYES LASH EXTENSION MASCARA

Here's an initial review on GIVENCHY PHENOMEN'EYES LASH EXTENSION MASCARA (BLACK)

PRICE: $30
PLACE BOUGHT: SEPHORA, NEW YORK
OTHER LOCATIONS: SEPHORA ONLINE

DESCRIPTION (taken from sephora.com):

Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara perfectly curls and separates lashes. It has a high-tech, patented round sphere at the tip of the precision wand that reaches every lash and adapts to all eye shapes. The result? A beautifully fanned-out panoramic effect, holding the curve of your lashes perfectly in place.
THE VERDICT:

I still have a lot of mascara tubes in my make- up kit. But you all know how I love mascara, and how essential it is to me. It somehow makes my dream of having long and lush lashes come true, sans the false lashes and eyelash extensions.

When my mom went to New York for a business trip, I asked her to get me Givenchy's Pheno'meneyes Lash Extension mascara. I've been looking at the ads and reviews for quite some time now, and I've been curious ever since. When I read LONG, FANNED- OUT, and THICK on every review and description, I knew I had to get it.

I was on my knees when I asked for it. I'm fine without other goodies as long as she gets me a tube of Phenomen'eyes.

Well, lo and behold, she bought me one.

Mothers. Oh how they love their children! :)

Phenomen'eyes is the latest mascara innovation by Givenchy. It promises to give you longer lashes after application.

The ball- shaped wand has got to be the perfect invention to catch every mascara eater's attention. I've tried every mascara wand there is in the market: from the traditional to the comb ones. And a ball- wand is something new and interesting.

I would like to reiterate that the ball- shaped wand is an innovation. Its shape enables you to reach every single lash on your eyes. But since it's small, it also takes time before you're able to coat each and every lash. Apart from the wand shape being time- consuming, there's already no con that I can think of.

The consistency of this mascara is thick and rich, which explains why the color payoff is intense. As compared to my other mascaras, Phenomen'eyes imparts a deeper and bolder color to the lashes which makes them look lush from a distance.

The ball wand is also designed to help you achieve the fanned- out lash look. It creates an illusion of longer and thicker lashes. It also makes eyes look bigger and wider.

Another look at my lashes with Phenomen'eyes. I applied around 3- 4 coats.

Here's what I'm talking about when I said "lush- looking lashes from a distance". Even if you don't click on the picture (so you'll have a zoomed in view), you can see that my lashes look longer and thicker. It also widened my eyes. Another great thing about this mascara is how it makes your "thick" lashes look natural even at close range. The formula is waterproof, and it dries quickly.

At $30, it sure is too expensive for a tube of mascara. But now that I have used it, I can actually say that it's all worth the cash. Some people would rant at how it gave them clumpy looking lashes. I think the right application and technique should be considered when it comes to applying mascaras. No matter how good or bad your mascara is, as long as you are knowledgeable in applying mascara correctly, you'll make it work.

Unfortunately, this is unavailable locally. If you have money to burn, then you can try splurging on a Phenomen'eyes by ordering via Sephora. Personally, I would love to buy one again. But if-- and only if I'm a millionaire. $30 for a small mascara tube that you'll throw away in three months is technically-- a waste. And besides, it's costly to make Phenomen'eyes as your daily mascara.
