DESCRIPTION (TAKEN FROM MAKEUPFOREVER.COM):
ROUGE ARTIST INTENSE is a lipstick saturated with pigments for an intense result. Available in 50 different shades and 3 different finishes, it will suit your everyday mood. Natural or sexy, ROUGE ARTIST INTENSE will last all day and leave your lips soft and moisturized.
Way back in the early days of Make Up For Ever here in the Philippines, it only carried around 10 shades of lipstick. Being a lipstick whore, it puzzled me so much as to why (oh why) would MUFE bring in such a few lipstick shades. It may have been the reason as to why I stopped visiting MUFE. Buying something from there was the last thing on my mind whenever i'm in TFHS. It even came to a point where they don't have lipsticks anymore. HMPH!
The last lipstick I bought from the brand is a very pretty lacquered finish shade in #203 or Orange Fluo Pink. And it came in plastic tubes that kinda' look cheap. (Refer to the pic above).
Last week, something dragged my feet to the store. Boy oh boy, the Rouge Artist Intense lipsticks were calling out to me. I was so delighted to see tons of lipstick and lipgloss shades by the line-- and in new chic packaging! AT LAST!
I had a hard time deciding what shade to pick. I wanted to get a rose shade, a mauve shade, and even a black one (If you're still dreaming of owning MAC's Black Knight Cremesheen lipstick from the Style Black collection, MUFE'S RAI will fulfill your ebony lip dreams). But it is so expensive. I only have a budget for one. Pfftt.
The cooler months are about to arrive, so I picked up a rose shade. I've always wanted a rose lipstick that will look vampy, but not gothic for the rainy season.
The new packaging definitely reflects the glamorous brand. It is a sleek, shiny metal tube in hues of steel gray and black. Totally worth 1280php.
The finishes come in MAT, PEARL (with glitters), and SATIN. I picked up MAT 6, which is described as a dark raspberry shade.
I just hate the fact that the shades come in numbers instead of names. I wish that the owner/manager/director of MUFE develops a knack for shade naming.
Here's the lipstick on my lips. It is pigment- saturated, so it delivers an overdose of color with just a swipe. It gives you a run for your money because you don't have to spend time layering for your lipstick for the color to come out. You get to save more!
However, it might feel heavy on the lips because it is packed with color. It feels that I'm wearing lipstick when I used this. But I'm good with it. I guess that's the feeling you get when you're wearing matte lippies. I encounter the same feeling with my matte lippies from MAC.
You might think that since the finish is matte, your lips will flake in no time during wear. I am happy to report that no, it did not dry my lips even though the consistency of the lipstick is dry.
#6 didn't seem like a dark raspberry shade to me. It came out as a sandy rose shade. It's beautiful in actual. And it makes my teeth look white too!
Here's a face pic so you can gauge how this shade will look like when worn. Don't you agree when I say that it's a great shade for the incoming rainy season? Dark and vampy lips will be in once again. But you don't have to look gothic nor wear black lipstick to sport the trend. Just pick your favorite colors in darker shades, and your make- up will befit the trend.
Staying power is good. After it settles, it stays throughout the day with minimal fading. It also has a slight perfume scent reminiscent of Chanel and Dior lippies.
Overall, I will recommend this lippie if you want to treat yourself. It comes in a variety of shades, and it does give you your hard- earned money's worth.
