The red lipstick is one of a woman's necessities. One swipe instantly glams up any tired and bare face. But most women dare not to wear rouge on ordinary days, and would always associate it with special occasions. Others are afraid of it because they do not know what shade to get, when in fact, one will rarely go wrong with red as compared to getting a pink lipstick (this probably answers the question as to why a rouge lippie is something that a woman should invariably have in her make- up kit).
Start getting used to wearing this beautiful shade when you're young. But then again, most young ladies shy away from the rouge lippie because they're afraid that it might make them look old.
Fret not. This make- up tutorial will teach you, young adults, how to wear the red lipstick without adding ten years on your faces. If you love wearing eyeshadow, rejoice because I will show you guys what eye make- up look will look best with a red lipstick. Yes, you can wear and enjoy red lipstick everyday!
EYES
Apply a light gold eyeshadow with a slight wash of glimmer all over your lid.
Use a soft brown eyeshadow to create a deeper set of eyes. Lightly tap your eyeshadow brush on the powder. Apply on your creases by starting from the outside, then blend towards the inner lid, then blend upwards to soften the color.
Apply volumizing mascara. Don't apply mascara on your lower lid. Save the Twiggy look for your night outs.
CHEEKS
Red and peach compliment each other. Peach creates a younger look, and tames down the boldness of the red color. Apply a light peach blush on your cheeks, then blend towards your temples to create a sculpting effect. Do not use corals and bright peaches. It will give your look an orange tone. A blush with slight shimmer is preferable.
Lastly, swipe some red goodness on your lips. Opt for satin/glossy/sheer lipstick finishes because it gives off a younger appeal. You can layer the lipstick with lipgloss for a juicy, patent shine. You may opt for matte/semi- matte finishes. Just apply lip balm underneath to add a hint of sheen.
Here's the outcome.
You might have noticed that I used products with glimmers in my FOTD. It's because the shimmering effect gives you a dewy and younger look, as compared to using flat and matte products. You only have one shot at becoming young, so enjoy it. Save the matte finishes when you're in your mid-20s.
There you go! I hope this solves one of your rouge problems! :D
