Rubbing concealer on your skin
- Some people apply concealer on their under eyes in a rubbing motion. This causes premature wrinkles. Besides, rubbing concealer on your under eyes will only wipe out the concealer from your skin. To maximize the coverage and efficacy of your concealer, dab it on your skin instead. This way, you conceal your dark circles better and you don't waste too much product.

Repeatedly tapping the cover of your mascara
- If you have this habit of opening the mascara and repeatedly tapping the cover on the tube before pulling the wand out, you better quit this habit because this dries out the mascara inside the tube quickly.

Using make- up testers right away
- If you want to try a lipstick, mascara, blush, eyeshadow, or powder shade on make- up counters, make sure that you wipe the product first with clean tissue because there were a ton of people who used the make- up testers before you. You wouldn't want their skin problems on your skin! If you're the type who likes using testers, buy a sponge and a brush that you'll only use whenever you do make- up testing on counters.

Concocting and using home made recipes
- Concocting is not bad, but using them right away is not good! If you read that a particular kitchen skin recipe causes smooth skin, think twice before rushing to your kitchen and mixing up the ingredients right away. Natural products are good, but different types of skin react differently to each and every ingredient. I have a friend who used a homemade honey mask on her face and developed tiny rashes on her facial skin the next day. The side effects of such ingredients should be considered before using homemade skin solutions right away. Also, do not mix A LOT of ingredients in one concoction because this can cause adverse skin reactions. All of these should be considered especially if you have sensitive skin.

Applying commercial lip balm on dry and wounded lips
- True, most commercial lip balms are great. But if you have wounded lips caused by severe dryness, it's best to avoid commercial lip balms. Because commercial lip balms contain compounds found in cosmetics such as perfume. These chemicals can slow down your skin's own healing process, and can cause more harm to your lips rather than heal it. Use medicated lip balms with no perfumes, dyes, and tints. Consult a dermatologist for the best medicated lip balm that you can use if ever you have severe dry lips.

Rubbing your eyes

- If we're sleepy, our eyeballs are itchy, or if a particle enters our eyes, our instinct is to rub our eyes, to a point where the skin on our fingers are already touching our eyeballs. This habit should be avoided, as our hands are considered as the dirtiest part of our body. Rubbing our eyeballs can transfer harmful bacteria from our hands to our eyes. If ever your eyeballs are itchy, or you're sleepy, close your eyes and gently rub your lids. If ever you need to take out a particle that irritates your eyes, say, a loose eyelash, wash your hands thoroughly first and remove it carefully and gently using your fingers. You can also submerge your face on a clean basin of water, open your eyes and stay submerged for at least 30 seconds so the particle will naturally be washed out by water.

Squinting
- Sometimes, we have this habit of trying to stare directly at the sun because when we were younger, we used to dare ourselves or our playmates to try staring at the sun without squinting. Old habits really die hard! :) If we're young and have lots of collagen on our skin, that's fine. But now, it's not. Because our skin's ability to produce collagen decreases as we age. We should always use sunglasses on sunny days to avoid squinting whenever a ray of sunlight accidentally hits our eyes. But if you're not wearing any eye protection and you accidentally stared at the sun, close your eyes instead of squinting.

Skipping the scrub
- A lot of people are taking face scrubbing for granted and would rely on their facial wash for thorough cleaning. Facial scrubbing should be done at least twice to thrice a week because it rids our facial skin of dirt and old and dry skin that can clog pores and cause pimples.

Pricking pimples--- ON YOUR OWN
- Pricking fresh pimples are recommended because it speeds up the healing process of the skin. This way, you excrete all the dirt in the pus. BUT--- never do it on your own, especially if you really don't know how to prick pimples. You can end up wounding yourself. It's best to go to facial salons that offer pricking services .

Pulling the skin on your eye part down to apply eyeliner on your teardrop
- Most people apply eyeliner on their waterlines by pulling down the skin on their under eyes. Little did they know that this beauty move causes premature wrinkles on the under eye area. To apply eyeliner on your waterline, lightly press the area below your waterline until your waterline area pops out a little.
