Last Friday, I had dinner with the BF and his parents at BF Homes, Paranaque. After a hearty Japanese dinner at Okinuri, we all decided to cap the night off with a nice dessert at Don Limone, a restaurant that apparently claims that it has GREAT CHEESECAKES.
The restaurant is pretty homey because from the looks of it, seems like it was a former house turned into a restaurant. It's very quiet, and a perfect date place for lovebirds like me and the BF.
The Great Cheesecakes: Big on size and taste. The two slices on the top part of the plate are Saffron and Dates cheesecake (left; a house specialty) and good ol' New York Cheesecake. (right) The third slice at the bottom is Blueberry White Choco.
The cheesecakes are pretty costly at P230 and up respectively. But the slices are pretty big. In fact, one slice could already be considered as a meal!
SAFFRON DATE CHEESECAKE: I'm not big on gourmet cheesecakes 'cos they're always hit-or-miss for me. I was thinking twice of ordering this stuff, but the BF's mom wanted to give it a shot since it's a house specialty. To me, Saffron goes well with Biryani or Basmati rice. But damn, this cheesecake turned Saffron into a yummy dessert! It's not too sweet, and the Saffron taste tames down the sweetness of the cake. A MUST TRY INDEED!
NEW YORK CHEESECAKE: There's probably nothing special with traditional stuff, but this one is the tastiest traditional cheesecake I've ever tasted. Light, creamy, and the sweet-salty combination is well- balanced. It's my favorite!
BLUEBERRY WHITE CHOCO: My order. Didn't like it that much because it tastes like milk chocolate to me. I'm a white choco fan, and was a bit disappointed that the chocolate didn't taste milky at all. But the Blueberry and chocolate combination is good. The BF's dad liked it.
TIP: Cheesecake and fruits go so well. Chew on some fruits as an interval from cheesecakes for a play of flavor.
They also serve Italian meals at affordable prices. Price range starts at P150 and up. I haven't tried their meals though, but I shall be going back for the cheesecakes!
