THE VERDICT:

If you like lipsticks in sheer and glossy formulations, better get something that still packs on a good dose of color or else, you'd be better off wearing clear lipgloss. I mean, that's the point of wearing lipstick, right? You wear lipstick because you want to add color to your lips.

Here's Rouge Artist Natural, a good example of what I 'm talking about. It has a glossy finish, yet it still gives your lips a touch of color.

The Rouge Artist lipstick comes in another variant, Rouge Artist Intense- a line of matte, bold, and crazily pigmented lipsticks from Make Up For Ever.

By the way, the brand's lipstick line has undergone a major revamp. Before, their lippies came in rounded plastic packaging with a clear peek-a-boo strip in the middle that lets you see the actual product. But now, it comes in a metal tube with this cute cap:

:D

So here's the product. Rouge Artist Natural has a nice perfume smell. It virtually has no taste, but some, especially the sensitive ones, might find that it has a slight perfume- like taste. It is not bothersome at all, at least to me. In fact, it goes away after the lipstick has settled onto my lips.

N45 is a bright true red shade. Since it has a glossy formulation, it took me two swipes on each lip to achieve this coverage. Staying power is not so great. In general, glossy lipsticks don't have good staying power.

Here's N45 on me-It brightens up my face, is a young kind of red, and the perfect red for non- special occasions. Sometimes, bold and matte reds could scream "Formal". If you want to wear red on a laid-back day, choose one in a glossy formulation because the finish sorta' dilutes the color. This shade is also great for those who are intimidated by matte red lipsticks.

Between this and Rouge Artist Intense, I'd go for the latter because I love matte finishes. :)

Ica: Haha. Thanks! :D Maybe you could suggest that on makeup forever's fan page. :D

Reloygirl: welcome to tbj! Thanks! It's more of a true red shade, and it's not as bright as blue- based reds. Nevertheless, it will still fit any skin tone! :D
