The rainy season is the best time to sip some hot noodle soup. At the height of the monsoon, the BF and I were consistently craving for good noodles. Here's one of our good finds from Podium: Shi Lin
PRICE RANGE: P50.00- P500.00
Shi Lin is an authentic Taiwanese kitchen that serves hand pulled noodles and their ever famous Xiao Long Bao.
Price is very affordable and servings are pretty huge. Click READ MORE and check out what we've ordered!
What's XIAO LONG BAO? It's dumpling infused with broth. There's actually a way of eating it, and I'm going to share it with you here:
THE ART OF EATING XIAO LONG BAO
You will be served with a mini sauce bowl with fresh ginger shavings
STEP 1: Pour some vinegar in the bowl
STEP 2: Pour some soy sauce in the bowl (The vinegar and soy sauce look alike)
Mix thoroughly.
STEP 3: Carefully lift one Xiao Long Bao from the wooden dimsum steaming bowl and put it in the sauce. Let it stay for a bit.
STEP 4: Carefully lift it again from the sauce and transfer it to your soup ladle.
STEP 5: Pierce the Xiao Long Bao to release its flavorful broth.
STEP 6: Take some fresh ginger from your sauce and put it on top of the Xiao Long Bao.
Chew slowly and enjoy it! :)
Here are two of their best- selling noodles.
Beef Noodle- Kinda' spicy but yummy!
Shrimp Wonton Noodle- Tastes pretty bland. :(
Siopao with Chorizo and minced pork
Yummeh! They don't have siopao sauce though. (Or maybe they have. I didn't ask anyway lol!)
Overall, it's pretty great because noodles is one of my comfort food. I'd love to go back again for my noodle fix!
