THE VERDICT:
Just squeezing in a little review for everyone before work. :)
From one of the most memorable fragrances of the house of Armani, Acqua Di Gioia, comes a sultrier, warmer version: Acqua Di Gioia Essenza. I also have the original Acqua Di Gioia, but I decided to review this one first because I use it more than the former. On top of that, its warmth and depth is more apt for the mood of the season, and the weather.
Acqua Di Gioia Essenza is considered as a Floral Woody fragrance. How the heck does that smell like? Well, A Floral Woody fragrance starts off as something fresh, sharp, or delicate (depending on the kinds of flowers in the fragrance), then it evolves into something deeper--something that smells warm and sensual. For other floral woody fragrances, the deep tones are already prominent in the beginning.
Going back to the fragrance, top notes are comprised of Amalfi Lemon, Crushed Mint, Pepper, and with a hint of citrus, giving its beginning a fresh and invigorating appeal. (The top notes remind me so much of the original Acqua Di Gioia) Right at the heart of the fragrance is where Jasmine lies, the domineering note of the entire composition. Finally, the base notes composed of Virginia Cedar, Cashmeran, and Sugar give the fragrance a lightly sweet ending. The fragrance is Jasmine all throughout, but it evolves from light, to delicate, and to sensual. It has a deep and mysterious appeal, yet it manages to stay light and utterly feminine making it a good choice both for spring and the rainy season. It's also good for day and night use. Quite a chameleon product, this is.
Overall, I like the fragrance because it's predominantly warm, and you all know how much I love warm floral fragrances. Metaphorically, the fragrance highlights the important facets of being a woman and I think this is the main reason why I love this fragrance-I can connect to it. Other than that, it's probably the only Jasmine fragrance that doesn't smell anything like Potpourri essences.
