THE VERDICT:

Presenting Acqua Di Gioia Essenza's baby sister, Acqua Di Gioia. Like its older sister, ADG is a fragrance inspired by nature, specifically of crystal clear waters, pure sand, the warm sea breeze, and the golden rays of the sun, yet this one is light- hearted and more youthful. If Acqua Di Gioia Essenza is for nighttime, Acqua Di Gioia is definitely for daytime.

Top notes are composed of crushed Mint leaves and Amalfi lemon, giving it a frisky and happy vibe.

Shortly, the warm heart notes comprised of Jasmine, Peony, and Pink Pepper envelop the vibrant beginning--Jasmine is the domineering scent in the heart, and then followed by Pink Pepper. However, I don't smell Peony at all.

The base notes have French Labdanum, (a type of flower) Cedar, and a pinch of Sugar. The fragrance stays airy all throughout, but staying power is so-so for an Eau De Parfum: It lasts for a good 4-5 hours on me.

Overall, it's a good fragrance for summer or warm and humid days because it smells very light yet strong enough to be perceived, (hope you got what I mean!) meaning it can mask the sharp, salty odor of sweat. I like light fragrances too, but I still prefer them having a little sillage or otherwise, I'm better off wearing baby cologne. Also, in my opinion, Giorgio Armani really knows how to work Jasmine into their perfumes so this one is really a keeper.

Acqua Di Gioia evokes this very pleasant image. I stared at this photo for just 2 minutes and now I feel like jumping into a pool! LOL!

Before we know it, beach season is finally here and this fragrance just keeps me looking forward to it! And for sure, I am wearing ADG all summer long!

Should I get this or Acqua Di Gioia Essenza? Which is better?

- It depends on your preference. If you want it a little deeper and sultrier, go for ADG Essenza. If you want it light, fun, and flirty, go for ADG. As for me, I like ADG Essenza better because I have an affinity for warmer florals. Nevertheless, this one is good and I think, its fresh fragrance will please a lot of Filipinas.
