THE VERDICT:

What is your most used makeup product? Mine's a loose setting powder because I love wearing liquid bases. I have two types of loose powders in hand: 1.) Translucent Finisher: for setting shade- matching liquid face products 2.) Shade- matching Finisher: for setting liquid face bases that are a wee bit lighter than my skin tone. On average, I consume a 20-35g pot in around 4-5 months (that's pretty fast!) that's why I prefer something cheap but with great quality and good coverage-I don't mind if it's a local or foreign brand.

So this is my criteria when choosing pressed powders: 1.) Lightweight 2.) Never cakey and creamy 3.) Has good oil control 4.) Easy to apply and blend 4.) Matches my skin tone (for shade- matching finishers) or does not alter the shade of my foundation at all. (for translucent finishers)

Happily and luckily, I was able to find almost everything I am looking for in a loose powder-shade matching loose powder to be exact-in Snoe's new Poudre Extraordinaire, a tinted loose powder infused with SPF 30 and laced with the protective and healing properties of Acai. Best part is, it's affordable!

My shade is Warm Honey, a shade that can fit girls with NC40-NC42 skin tones. It comes in Vanilla Creme (for NC15-NC20 skin tones) and Perfect Beige (For NC25-NC35 skin tones).

For only P799.00, you get a 35g pot which to me, is A LOT of product. Usually, loose pressed powders only come in 15g pots-maximum is 20g. So before you exclaim "How expensive!", think again.

Comes with a fluffy powder puff. I don't really use it to apply powder. Instead, I've found a better use for it and that is for dusting off excess powder particles from my skin.

Warm Honey is a golden beige shade with a very strong yellow undertone. If some of you are thinking that this powder may make your skin appear sallow, nope, I didn't experience it with this one because the white tint from its SPF content helps tame the strong yellow shade. I've read in one of Bobbi Brown's books that yellow- toned face products are more universal than pink and olive- toned ones. Suffice to say, this may fit a good range of girls with varying undertones but don't take my word for it-It's still best to go to a Snoe stall/store and swatch the product.

 When blended evenly

Texture is somewhere in between creamy and dry: It's dry enough to absorb excess oil from my facial surface, and creamy enough to actually make a difference on the tone of my skin. This is the EXACT texture I'm looking for in a tinted loose powder because it doesn't make my makeup look thick and cakey at all.

I like the fact that it has SPF in it-It just saves me a good 3 minutes from applying traditional sunblock on my skin.

I find that it's very easy to blend, and a little goes a long way because the powder is very spreadable. It has a faint floral fragrance, and coverage is medium.

Here's a closer look at the powder. The wonderful texture of the powder gives my skin a sheer, smoothening veil: It evens out my skin's surface and it somehow blurs the appearance of pores.

It has everything I want but it just failed for a little bit in the shade- matching department: If I apply too much of it on my skin, my face tends to give off this slight white cast in pictures because its SPF content is pretty high. What I do is I apply it sparingly with a fluffy brush, and buff it onto my skin until I achieve my desired finish. If it's applied lightly, it delivers perfectly. I use this with liquid bases that are a little light for my skin tone.

It can control oil for as long as 3 hours, and staying power is okay as I find that it tends to fade for a little after a good 5-6 hours of wear. There's nothing that retouching can't do!

In conclusion, I still think that this product is pretty worth purchasing because in terms of size, it's pretty huge and it will last you a long time. Add to that, it looks very natural on the skin, doesn't feel heavy, can be worn alone or on top of a liquid base, and has SPF to shield your skin from the sun. It's a great everyday loose powder that won't put a dent on your atm card.

  3. Eyah: Hi Eyah! Those are MAC's codes for their face products. I always use it in my posts for reference because women are more familiar with MAC's shade system. Hope this answers your question. :)

  9. You look poreless in this photo! I love that our local makeup scene is really raising the bar for quality and affortable products for pinays :)

This powder methinks works well with Fairydrops BB. I saw Liz of Project Vanity 's FOTD post yesterday and she also set the Fairydrops BB with Snoe's powder and it looks flawless on her too!

  10. It looks really creamy! Wonderful. I heard from Liz of Project Vanity that it smells like sweet berries. Yum! Glad to know it doesn't make you look like the Simpsons despite the strong yellow undertone. Haha
