Review: Davines Nounou Pak

Here's a review on Davines Nounou Pak Nourishing Repairing Mask

THE VERDICT:

Do you get frizzy, static hair in the morning? I do. Because tossing and turning during sleep causes friction between the pillowcases and my hair-this goes out to everyone too. And this friction ain't good because it causes limp- looking hair and split ends in the long run.

A few months back, I have received a trial size of Davines' Nounou Pak. (what a funny name) It has been sitting in my cabinet for almost two months now--I'm not touching it 'coz I was turned off by its smell. Just last week, I decided to try it and endure the scent because I'm trying to use a lot of my untouched products so I could get rid of them pronto and make way for the new ones. And my oh my, the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" (in this case, its smell. lol) rings true for this product because it is so dayum good! It protects my hair from friction during sleep!

DAVINES NOUNOU PAK IN DETAIL

Nounou Pak is made with Olive Butter and is meant for people with Dry and Brittle Hair, (Duh, Martha. Your readers can read it on the label wtf?! LOL) which is the eternal and unfortunate state of my beloved locks.

What's up with Olive Butter? What can it do to your hair?

- Deeply moisturizes dry scalp and hair
- Helps hair regenerate faster
- Hydrating
- Provides a protective barrier on hair cuticles, making it more resistant to breakage

I just wanna say that for a trial size, this thing is pretty big! I've used it twice and I'm still nowhere near the bottom! I hope our local beauty sampling sites would carry this soon so everyone could experience this amazing baby!

It's not so spreadable because texture is putty- like--much like Playdoh but richer and creamier. Now onto the scent: It's not nice-not at all. It smells a little synthetic, almost plastic- like to me. Another downside is when you rinse the product off your hair, the odor stays. What I do is I use a very fragrant conditioner along with this product to somehow eliminate the smell. (And it works!)

HOW TO USE:

1. Rinse hair with shampoo and conditioner
2. Towel dry hair
3. Apply Nounou Pak generously, concentrating on the midsection and roots
4. Let it stay for 15 minutes
5. Rinse off completely

At first, it makes hair a little stiff but when you finally rinse it, your locks begin to soften up, albeit it's not the type that I can call comb- friendly. (that's why I use it with a conditioner!) BUT--when your hair is completely dry, it magically transforms into something soft, shiny, ultra manageable, smooth, and luscious. Nounou Pak keeps my hair looking fab all throughout the day, (even when I sleep!) and I only use my fingers to comb through it whenever the wind blows it up in a mess-yup, that's how much this product improves hair manageability! I've also noticed that it has somehow brought back my hair color's vibrance.

DAVINES NOUNOU PAK IN ACTION

Photo taken right after waking up. I didn't comb my hair here! No frizz to be seen, and it looks decent!

I know that you're all familiar with how bed hair looks like: It's flat, uneven, rough, and frizzy. This mask battles that nasty static in my hair, which causes all of those problems I've mentioned. Methinks its ultra nourishing ingredients effectively shield my mop from all that friction during sleep. Love it!

Unlike other hair masks, this one does not aggravate my already oily scalp despite its thick consistency. I slather it on my scalp generously (and throw in a little scalp massage too) to fortify my hair roots. It's a very nice product and I recommend it to people with frizzy hair, dry and damaged color- treated hair, and people who get static hair in the morning (or at any time of the day) like me. I just wish they'd change the scent!
