THE VERDICT:

Happy New Year of the Water Snake! So the first product I'm reviewing for the year is Shiseido's Radiant Lifting Foundation.

The Radiant Lifting Foundation is Shiseido's most revolutionary foundation yet: It is infused with Radiant Reflecting particles, (a Shiseido- exclusive ingredient) that illuminate skin, blur fine lines, and banish pores for a younger- looking appearance. Shiseido has also likened the effect of this foundation to the one created by lighting boards in photography. Other than that, this product is also made with Rose Apple Leaf Extract (a plant- derived ingredient that boosts skin's ability to fight UV damage) Hydroproxyline, (improves skin's Collagen production) and SPF 15, making it the ultimate Anti-Aging foundation.

SHISEIDO RADIANT LIFTING FOUNDATION IN DETAIL

I would like to commend the pump dispenser of this bottle: In my experience, when a foundation pump gets old and overused, it has a tendency to leak. The good thing about Shiseido's is it has a rubber stopper at the mouth of the pump so in case it malfunctions in the future, the rubber stopper will keep the liquid inside the bottle.

Packaging is lightweight, albeit looks and feels a little flimsy.

Here's a swatch of the product. Deep Ochre is my shade match in all of Shiseido's face products, but I find that this one goes on a little lighter due to its high SPF content. Consistency is like liquid mousse, and has a faint Lavender scent. Its moisturizing, rich, smooth and silicone- like texture makes it great for dry and oily- skinned people. Fret not when I say that it has a silicone- like texture because this one doesn't feel heavy and clogging--it's very lightweight and very comfortable on the skin. And despite the fact that it's texture is a little buttery, it doesn't aggravate my oily skin. Coverage is full.

Two layers of Shiseido Radiant Lifting Foundation

If you've observed in the first photo, my skin is dull, has minor marks, and my pores are quite visible. But when I finally had the foundation on, it looks like I have a brand new skin--one that looks more even, smoother, plumper, and more radiant. Setting time of this foundation is pretty fast: In less than 2 minutes, it sets properly onto my skin and yields a semi- matte finish. I also like the fact that it can cover light to heavy facial discolorations. The Lavender scent in it is very faint and ain't bothersome at all.

Shiseido Radiant Lifting Foundation set with Palgantong Theatrical Powder

I have just photoshopped my face in here--NOT! Folks, this foundation just perfects your skin! In photos, it looks very marvelous, albeit it yields a faint white cast if not set with a shade- matching powder. In person, it may look a little thick so what I do is I only apply two layers max and with a Stippling Brush. If you have very good skin, one layer would suffice. But even if you apply just one or one hundred layers, this foundation will still yield the same skin- perfecting effect.

Staying power is very good: It stays put for more than 6 hours without fading, streaking, and caking, given that you blend it properly and evenly. My T-Zone oils up for just a wee bit at around the 3rd or 4th hour, but it's not that bad!

Regarding the Radiant Reflecting Particles, I don't know how to explain it in words so here's a more visual explanation:

The photo on the left is from my 2011 campaign with Nivea. I remember that one of the photographer's assistants had used a silver reflector in front of my face so that the rays of the sun would bounce and hit my skin, thereby dissolving any skin imperfections--Shiseido's foundation does just that! The only difference in these two photos is, the photographer had a better camera teehee! :D

In conclusion, I love this foundation because it gives my skin a better appearance, but I wish they'd add more pigments in it to neutralize the SPF content. Also, I'm quite surprised to know that apart from awesome powder foundations, Shiseido makes good liquid foundations as well! If you need and want a foundation that makes you look great in person and most especially in photos, I suggest this!
