I can't seem to find any good silver eyeshadow for daytime, and that would compliment warm, yellow- toned skin. I have tried a couple and they're nice, but they haven't really met my standards.

And then one day, I met Nars' Vent Glacé duo eyeshadow.

When I got this in my loot during the Nars Fall Collection Press Launch last 2012, I thought to myself: "Cool. But looks to me, it's another typical silver eyeshadow." Well, I was wrong. Forgive me, Vent Glacé, I had judged you so easily!

It's housed in the signature rubberized packaging of the brand, and its size is the same as Nars' blushes. Sometimes, I even mistake this as one of my Nars blushes!

Nars' Duo Eyeshadows come with two complimenting colors. You can wear them individually for daytime, or combine both colors for nighttime--that's how it is with this product. However, for this particular duo, the shades of both eyeshadows are light and can only be used for daytime or as an accent for other darker colors. I don't find this a problem because most of the time, I just like wearing a sheer wash of color on my lids. :)

L-R When combined, Silver, Platinum

Vent Glacé has two colors, although it didn't quite say in detail what the exact shades of the eyeshadows are so I'll describe them to you guys instead:

Silver- muted silver with a light frosted finish
Platinum- muted gray-silver shade with a light frosted finish and slight beige undertone

Texture is silky smooth, and there's no fallout during application: The pigments transfer onto my skin easily, and blends beautifully with each other and with other eyeshadows as well. Coverage is medium, yet buildable.

Vent Glacé, in French, means "Icy Wind" and that's exactly how this product fares on my skin: It gives my overall look a touch coolness, as if the icy breeze has just kissed my skin and left a subtle silver shimmer. I like!

Staying power is okay, but it holds up all day if used with a heavy duty eye primer. If you have oily lids like me, I highly recommend that you use an eye primer not only with this product, but with any kind of eyeshadow as well-better safe than streaky! :D

The reason why this silver eyeshadow duo looks so stunning on warm skin is because it's not overly glittery and pigmented, and the softness of the colors compliment warm skin tones naturally. However, for fair- skinned ladies, this duo may fare a little lighter than these swatches.

I love this duo so much, and it's a good alternative to champagne, beige, and gold lid washes.

Vent Glacé is part of the Fall 2012 collection, and good news: It's a permanent product!

It's pretty pricey for just two eyeshadows, but the quality, size of the eyeshadow pans, and uniqueness of the shades make this a great buy! Nars' products have pretty good quality and color selections that's why it's my second favorite makeup brand! (First is Bobbi Brown)

Marsied: Thanks! I used BYS' Lip gloss and lipstick duo in chilli red. :)

Eloise: Yup 'cuz it wasn't formulated to be pigmented. :)

Nina: hello and welcome to tbj. :) I you're a little darker than I am, go for platinum shades or steel gray as silver will look too pale on you. Apply two coats of mascara, and a thin line of eyeliner then you're all set! Hope you find this tip helpful. :)
