For my first summer tutorial, I thought of doing Bobbi Brown's super fresh, super pretty, and super easy look from the Lilac Rose Collection. Pastels scream summer and Lilac, in particular, is such an easy-to-wear summer color, not to mention in looks good in any skin tone, even on morena skin tone!
PRODUCTS USED:
EYES:
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow in Heather (Base)
Lime Crime Eyeshadow in Ribbonesque from the Palette D' Antoinette Collection (Lid Wash)
Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow in Lilac Sparkle (Accent)
Anna Sui Eye Color Accent (Lower lash line color)
Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara (Black)
K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner (Black)
Other options: Regular eyeshadow primer as base, Lavender or pale violet eyeshadow for the overall look, white or blue glitter eyeshadow for the accent, and black eyeshadow for the lower lash line.
Click READ MORE and let's get down to the tutorial!
STEP 1: Apply cream eyeshadow as your lid base. I chose a darker violet eyeshadow to give my eyes some depth. It's important to use a cream base or eyeshadow primer to help the sparkle/glitter eyeshadow adhere better onto your lids.
STEP 2: Using a lilac eyeshadow and a flat eyeshadow brush, dab some color on your inner lids going to the the outer crease.
Mimic the pointy end of the eyeshadow look on Bobbi's model: Create a flick on your eyeshadow by sweeping the color in a slight upward motion, towards the tail of your eyebrow. Blend evenly using an eyeshadow blender brush.
STEP 3: Using the sparkle/glitter eyeshadow and a flat eyeshadow brush, dab some color on your lids going towards your outer crease. Use a blender brush to lightly dust off any excess.
STEP 4: Using a Bullet or Pencil Point eyeshadow brush and a black/gray eyeshadow, color your lower lash line starting on the outer area then blend towards the inner area-create a fading effect for a more subtle, smokey look.
Apply a matte, sheer cream or dirty white eyeshadow on your brow bones, line your eyes with eyeliner, and cap off the look with a black mascara-more volume, the better. :)
Voila! And we're done! :)
For the cheeks: Contour your cheek planes then add a dash of pink blush on your apples. I have used Benefit Hoola Bronzer for contouring, and Illamasqua's Blush in Hussy for the cheek color.
For the lips: Use a midtone pink shade or light rose shade then finish off with a pink lipgloss. I have used the Bubble Bath lipgloss and Sandwash Pink lip color from Bobbi Brown's Pretty Palette.
Other Products Used:
Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation (SB12)
Zero Kuma Concealer (1)
Essence Fix&Matte! Translucent Powder
MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme (Dirty Blonde)
Etude House Color My Brows Brow Mascara
That's all! Let me know how and where you will wear this look! :)

ReplyDeleteThank you for this FOTD Ms M! I was skeptical about the lip shade because I've always seen reds, nudes, pinks, fuchsias as lip colors. When you wrote about this Bobbi Brown collection, it did look good on the print ad model but I couldn't imagine wearing it in person. Bagay pala! I can appreciate it better now.
ReplyDeletesweet and innocent ang peg :) I don't think I can pull off this look :( I am far from being innocent looking! hehehehe
ReplyDeleteI excitedly opened this link when i saw your pic and model's pic side by side. You look really pretty in lilac. I have a suggestion. Why not recreating makeup looks using high-end prods on one side and drugstore prods on the other side? looking forward to that. ;)
ReplyDeleteKris: Thank you! Now you have an idea. :D
ReplyDeleteDana: I have a couple already, and they're now sitting on the drafts section of my blog. :)
