NARS Pierre Hardy, Satin Lip Pencils, and Summer Shock Collections 2013

NARS has got a ton of mouthwatering offers to us this season! Starting off with the Pierre Hardy for NARS collection:

Renowned shoe designer, Pierre Hardy has just lent his creativity to Nars. The Pierre Hardy For Nars collection is a small yet sweet atelier of cheek colors and nail lacquers derived from Hardy's Summer 2013 shoe collection.

THE WHO: A born artist, Pierre Hardy's supernatural talent for fashion design has brought him to designing footwear for some of the iconic labels namely Balenciaga, Christian Dior, and Hermes (in which he served as a jewelry Creative Director as well) for over a decade. In 1999, he pursued his own, namesake modern shoe brand that combines funk, class, and charisma. Celebrity fans of Hardy's shoes are Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Bosworth, Demi Moore, Nicole Kidman, and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

In an exclusive interview, Pierre Hardy recounts why he chose to collaborate with NARS: "...if I would have created a cosmetic company, I would have dreamed it would be like NARS. The packaging is beautiful – the matte black, the colors, the density, the image of communications – everything was so current. It’s what I already love, so it was not even a question", Pierre mused.

Pierre imagined that his collection for NARS would truly reflect his Summer 2013 shoe collection so as much as possible, he tried to make the makeup colors similar to the leather of his collection.

Presenting the Nail Lacquer duos. They just remind me of shoes and mind you, they also come with their own mini dust bags! So cute! FYI, the nail lacquer duos, from the colors down to the names, were fashioned after the actual shoes in Hardy's collection.

Limited Edition Pierre Hardy Blushes in Boys Don't Cry (Left) and Rotonde (Right) with Hardy's signature cubic logo etched in gold overspray. These blushes are so huge and so pigmented, I tell you--it's for the serious blush lover and makeup artist! My favorite between the two is Boys Don't Cry-it's a purrty salmon-coral color!

Next up is Nars Summer Shock Collection:

Summer Shock takes us back to the era of shimmering bootleg pants, neon- colored lights, and Discorama--THE 70'S! But Nars added a modern twist to it by mixing and matching bright and subdued colors to make the makeups more wearable. We all agreed that the eyeshadow duo in Fashion Rebel is to die for! :D

And last but not the least, the Satin Lip Pencils:

Francois Nars had combined the emollient, caring properties of lip balm, and the rich color and texture of lipsticks in a convenient Pencil packaging.

There are thirteen shades, but my current favorites are Yu (Top Left), Luxembourg (Top Right), and Tender Night (Bottom).

We also had a little chat with Sada, International Makeup Artist for NARS. (Who's not in the pic, unfortunately. Perhaps he got a lil' tired from all the press events!) Great time as always, girls!

We've got a couple of NARS products to try out! There'll be a part two of this post, showcasing the entire Summer collections with descriptions and prices, so please stay tuned for that tomorrow! :D
