The Oily Bible: Treatments (Part II)

Part two of the Oily Bible, folks. This has got to be my most favorite part, I must say because I always find skin treatments very interesting. Without further ado, check out the list of treatments that are oily- skinned friendly!

SUNBLOCK

CELETEQUE SUN CARE MATTE MOISTURIZER SPF 30 BROAD SPECTRUM UVA/UVB (P230.00)

A very light sunblock that dries to a semi- matte finish, yet yields a hydrating effect. It's very affordable as well.

VMV HYPOALLERGENICS ARMADA FACE COVER SPF 30 (Starts at P660.00)

Light, soothing, hydrating, and yields a very minimal white cast. Can be piled on without the heavy feel.

KIEHL'S ULTRA LIGHT DAILY UV DEFENSE SPF 50 PA+++ (Starts at P1,995.00)

The only high spf sunblock with the lightest feel that I know. Oil- free and hydrating.

BLEMISH TREATMENTS

BRIGHTENING SERUMS

- Since oily skin is prone to pimples, people with this skin type would most likely end up with post- acne marks. Here's a list of my tried and tested brightening serums.

VMV ILLUMINANTS FACE-HAND-BODY CREAM (Regular size is around P900.00++)

One of the most affordable brightening creams I've used. It's fragrance- free, hypoallergenic, and does not cause any stinging or peeling. Good to use on sensitive skin.

KIEHL'S DERMATOLOGIST SOLUTIONS CLEARLY CORRECTIVE DARK SPOT SOLUTION (P3,950.00)

A light and quick- absorbing serum that can be used under makeup without affecting its finish. Lightens scars in as little as 1 month.

SHISEIDO WHITE LUCENT INTENSIVE SPOT BRIGHTENING SERUM AND POWER BRIGHTENING MASK (Serum is P6,000.00+; Mask is P3,000.00 for a set)

My most favorite scar brightening duo to date. Lightens up scars quickly in as little as 7 days, and its light, watery texture does not aggravate oily skin.

SPOT TREATMENTS

- Here's a list of my recommended zit busters

KIEHL'S DERMATOLOGIST SOLUTIONS BLEMISH CONTROL DAILY SKIN CLEARING TREATMENT (Around P1,000.00+)

- A watery treatment that can be used all over the face or on certain areas to banish zits or maintain clear skin. I treasure this the most for its Dioic Acid content, an antibacterial ingredient that has the ability to prevent melanin formation. In short, it lightens as it heals.

VMV HYPOALLERGENICS RED BETTER SPOT CORRECTOR (P400.00)

A moisturizing spot treatment that's gentle enough to be used by those with sensitive skin or low pain tolerance. Contains soothing extracts from Coconut to prevent dryness.

YVES ROCHER PURE SYSTEM SPOT KILLING PATCH (P480.00)

My most favorite spot treatment! It literally flattens large zits overnight and has the power to penetrate deep into cystic pimples and dry them out fast! It's mild and easy to use too!

YVES ROCHER PURE SYSTEM BLEMISH CORRECTOR (Around P400.00)

A spot treatment-slash-concealer that minimizes the appearance of pimples while healing them simultaneously. This one has got some good coverage as well!

KIEHL'S BLUE HERBAL SPOT TREATMENT (P1,000.00+)

A traditional spot clearing treatment that does not contain Benzoyl Peroxide, a skin darkening agent. Dries out fresh zits overnight and heals them completely in as little as two days.

SNOE SHOO ZIT DON'T BOTHER ME SPOT ON SPOT OFF DAILY MAINTENANCE ACNE FADING GEL (P399.00)

Contains extracts from the exotic Crownwood Fern, which is highly treasured in Korean skin care for its antibacterial properties. If you don't get grave breakouts, this affordable, non- darkening, mild zit corrector will do.

EGYPTIAN MAGIC CREAM (P195.00)

A more natural and ultra mild alternative to Snoe's zit treatment. It does not work well on big zits, but on small zits and tiny bumps, it's good enough.

SERUMS

SHU UEMURA TSUYA SKIN YOUTHFUL RADIANCE GENERATOR (P3,250.00)

A light overall serum that helps brighten skin. Can be used even during daytime because of its non-comedogenic formula and hydrating consistency.

CLARINS DOUBLE SERM HYDRIC+LIPIDIC SYSTEM (P4,550.00)

A great product for those who experience very greasy skin during mornings caused by certain night creams and serums. Contains a balanced amount of water and oil to mimic the skin's natural oil-water balance.

KIEHL'S MIDNIGHT RECOVERY CONCENTRATE (P2,880.00)

Made from a blend of natural oils that helps maintain skin's oil balance on the skin surface. I've never experienced oily skin during waking moments when I was using this.

JERICHO PREMIUM ACTIVE SERUM (Around P3,000.00+)

Another wonderful oil- stopping serum. Its base is made with Algae gel, a natural extract that acts as a silicone primer.

DERMATOLOGICAL TREATMENT

BENCH SKIN EXPERT'S ADVANCED ACNE SOLUTION FACIAL (P800.00/session)

Hardened sebum right inside the pores and persistent cystic acne need some serious extraction from the experts. For this, I go to Bench Skin Expert: The entire procedure, including pricking and extraction are very tolerable, I always leave with clean skin afterwards, and most importantly, I didn't break out from their topical products!

Who's excited for the last part? It's coming tomorrow! :D

  5. Is the celeteque sunscreen oil-free too? I've had no luck with facial sunscreens and it's getting really frustrating :( But I'm definitely giving that a try!

Unfortunately the Shu Uemura tsuya skin worsened my skin. Right now I go to dermclinic to get the Acne Clear Advance. My sister first got it and she had amazing results, I am hoping it'll do the same for me.

  7. Maiphoenix: Hi and welcome to my blog! You're welcome! :D

Cel: Oh! That's sad to hear. :( Maybe Shu's formulation was too much for your skin. :( The Celeteque moisturizer is oil- free. My fave oil- free sunblocks are VMV's Armada and Kiehl's Ultra Facial sunblock. :)

BrownOso: Let me know how you like Bench Skin Expert! :)

Rhania: Kiehl's, as you know, is my most favorite skin care brand. You'll really get the bang for your buck if you invest in this brand. :)

Zwitsy: There is some pain, but it's completely tolerable. :)

CJ: Maybe you should recommend Celeteque's Acne Solutions to her. :)
