THE VERDICT:

Lately, my lips have been screaming in delight because of these mighty fine lip balms by Hurraw, a US lip balm brand. Hurraw is being distributed by Cutieverse, a local online shop that retails indie international organic brands. It's the kind of lip balm that I've always wanted!

HURRAW! LIP BALMS IN DETAIL

Hurraw started with an idea: To create the perfect lip balm. And then they proceeded to form handy lip balms made with the finest, high quality, sustainable raw and certified organic ingredients, (and I think this is why the HurRAW name came about) and without Parabens, fragrance, (contains natural fragrance only) preservatives, toxic substances, and that are gluten- free. Suffice to say, it's all good, although those with food allergenicity should be wary of the ingredients. It comes in a lot of flavors, ranging from classic ones such as Orange, Lemon, and Mint and to something as yummy as Green Tea, Coffee Bean, and Chai Spice- a majority of them are colorless.

Ingredients

Oil, without a doubt, is the best humectant for the skin as it forms a barrier on top of natural moisture, preventing it from evaporating, and keeps skin hydrated and softer longer. As you can see, Hurraw's lip balms are primarily made up of oils, but they're plant- derived so no, they're not heavy and slimy- they actually feel very light and surprisingly, are absorbed quicker by the lips than most lip balms.

Hurraw's lip balms have this unique oval- shaped-the reason was to allow you to easily slip them into the tiniest and tightest of pockets.

HURRAW! MINT LIP BALM (FOR DRYNESS RELIEF)

Classic minty lip balm. Gives lips a slight icy cool feeling but without the nasty stinging sensation. However, the minty sensation lasts for only 20- 30 minutes, and you'd have to reapply often if you're after the sensation.

Ingredients: *Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, ***Euphorbia cerifera (candelilla)wax, **Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, *Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, **Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, *Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, *Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, Mentha piperita (peppermint) leaf oil, Tocopherols (vitamin e)

*cold pressed / organic **raw & organic ***wildcrafted

HURRAW GREEN TEA LIP BALM (WITH ANTIOXIDANTS)

This one is tasty: It has a creamy, green tea scent, reminds me of a cup of matcha and milk.

Ingredients: *Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, ***Euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, *Cannabis sativa (hemp) seed oil, **Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, *Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, **Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, *Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, *Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, ***Camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf powder, organic flavors, Tocopherols (vitamin e)

*cold pressed / organic **raw & organic ***wildcrafted

HURRAW! NIGHT TREATMENT LIP BALM BLUE CHAMOMILE AND VANILLA (FOR REPAIR)

My most favorite! It has been my lip night cream for over a month now because it really delivers: I get softer, smoother, and plumper lips every waking moment. If used for a period of time, it treats (apart from softening) dry areas so you can wear matte lipstick comfortably during the day, and it also has this slight exfoliating effect: I've noticed that it helps me get rid of dry skin easily, without the tugging, pulling, and most especially, bleeding. Scent is very soothing and yummy, and it contains more oil extracts than the first two variants.

Ingredients: Persea gratissima (avocado) oil, *Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, ***Euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, **Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, **Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, *Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, *Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, *Argania spinosa (argan) kernel oil, *Rosa rubiginosa (rosehip) seed oil, *Limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, Tocopherols (vitamin e), **Vanilla planifolia (vanilla) bean, ***Myroxylon balsamum (peru balsam) oil, Matricaria recutita (blue chamomile) flower extract

*cold pressed / organic **raw & organic ***wildcrafted

HURRAW! LIP BALMS IN DETAIL

All lip balms are not draggy, non- sticky, transfer quickly and effortlessly, have not taste, don't slide around the lips, and the scents don't make me feel lightheaded. Mint and Green Tea are sheer enough to be used under satin lipstick, glossy lipstick, and lip gloss for added protection, while Night Treatment has replaced Lucas Papaw as my night time lip balm because effect is pretty much the same, but the former feels lighter. Regarding lasting power, the glossy effect vanishes after 30 minutes to an hour, but the emollient feeling stays.

I'm obsessed with these lip balms at the moment because it's a marriage between my three favorite lip balms namely Kiehl's, Lucas Papaw, and Burt's Bees: Hurraw has the moisturizing, soothing, and reparative properties of the three, but without the heaviness and stickiness! I recommend everything, especially the Night Treatment!
