Last Wednesday was Makeup Swatching day for me. I had to stay at home and swatch and take photos for product reviews for four whopping hours. That's how much backlogs I have to do. I'm finally done with my BB Creams (All six of them) and one of which is this: Avon Skin Goodness BB Cream, one of their newest products.

It's pretty much like any other BB Cream: It has moisturizers, spf, and skin caring ingredients. It comes in a whitening variant as well.

Product comes in a handy squeeze tube which is always a plus for me as it's quite sanitary, but I feel that there's not much product inside the tube. Shade is called Nude.

Nude is a midtone beige shade with pink/yellow undertones. Consistency is very watery and texture is very spreadable, although coverage is very sheer-It's more of a tinted moisturizer to me. You can build it up though, but I find that it tends to impart a white cast if you do that.

Bare face with Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer on

Two layers of Avon Skin Goodness BB Cream

It settles to a semi- matte finish instantly and feels light and comfortable on the skin.

I was kinda' disappointed because on the hand swatch, it looked somewhat pigmented and like my shade match, but it just turned out pale and whitish on my skin tone. It unifies skin tone, although it does not have any concealing coverage at all. It's also a little streaky so you'd need a sponge to blot it out.

The only positive attribute of this product is it fares nicely on oily skin: I managed to stay oil- free for about 3 hours and it didn't aggravate my oily skin even more. It's just a tinted moisturizer/primer that you still have to wear with another face base to get decent coverage. Great for combination- oily and moderately oily skin and even for dry skin because it's moisturizing despite the semi- matte finish.

8 Lovely Thoughts

  1. what setting powder did you use Ms. M?

  2. Avon really is catching up on the latest trends: to BB cream to great lipsticks. It looks a bit light for my skin tone though.

  3. I also have this, haven't tried it yet. Good to know though that oil control is okay, pero sana coverage is much better kasi I have lots of pimples..

  4. Good thing that this doesnt break you out ms m.i read other blogger reviews and it break them out ;( i would try celeteque or ponds ;)

  5. nice to know that it has good oil control ... what powder did you use here Miss Martha? :)

  6. I know brands here and there are creating their own bb creams to keep up with the trend, but really, when it comes to quality and performance, I only rely on Korean bb creams :)

  7. The ultimate dilemma of a budget conscious like me is getting a product that is cheap yet with quality.. Some people buy makeup products because of its name and of course its quality. But for me having this cheap products available in the market give us a chance to have a glance on what it looks like once we use it. I think it is a case to case basis if others have a breakout or is allergic to this. I think it still depends on your skin type.
