THE VERDICT:

Did you know that Italy is one of the most advanced countries in the world when it comes to cosmetic technology? They're known for their professional- grade makeup products, and they're one of the pioneers of all- natural cosmetics. (Let us thank the strict EU Standards for that!) Most premium brands have their makeup products manufactured in Europe, and Italy is one of the preferred countries. I've tried a few Italian brand of makeup products such as Royal Effem, Kiko, and Borghese, but here's a new discovery that's fairly accessible and affordable: Deborah Milano.

Made from silky soft powder, this quad eyeshadow palette delivers instant definition in bold, long- lasting colours that can be worn separately or all together. Comes in 9 color harmonies.

I got All Black, which is a very good smokey eye palette. The palette has this unique, rounded shape, albeit packaging doesn't feel too sturdy. The eyeshadows were pressed well in the pans though.

The thing that I dislike with European cosmetics is, the shades don't have names! :P For this palette, the shades are labeled with numbers so you'll know where they should go on your eyelids. I'll just describe the colors in the palette for everyone:

From Top to Bottom:

1- Highlighter; A sheer icy white eyeshadow with silver shimmer
2- Colour; A frosted silver-gray shade. In layman's term, it's a lid wash.
3- Intensify; A steel gray eyeshadow with silver frosting. As you all know, I love using steel gray eyeshadows in my smokey eye makeup looks, but they're quite hard to find and the good ones are pricey. Finally, here's one affordable but good steel gray eyeshadow I could recommend, plus you'll get other colors to boot!
4- Contour; A matte black shade. This black eyeshadow is intense and doesn't come off soft or grayish! I like! :D

Note: the eyeshadows were layered on twice

I recently used this palette in my Smokey with A Twist Eye Makeup Look + Tutorial. Texture is very buttery, and quality is superior: They're very pigmented, I get no fallout, and the pigments are so easy to blend. I don't know how they fare without any eye primer on, but with it, the colors stay vibrant and true with very, very minimal fading (on oily lids) yet no creasing at the end of the day.

For budding makeup artists out there, this is a good palette to start with while you're still slowly investing in pricier professional makeup brands. For the everyday gal, Black and Gray are essential eyeshadow colors so if you're looking for something affordable but good, look no further. Others say that the affordable counterpart of MAC's famed eyeshadows is Urban Decay, but if you can't afford any of the two, you should try this! :)

  3. i love makeup palettes that has number guides! It's weird but I love them. hehe.. I can't explain why either!
The colors in this quad really looks good. This is quite handy for lazy girls like me who wears just one shadow color for the day, but have the option to switch to full smokey eyes at night with just 1 palette of shadows. :D

  5. Is that a two-headed applicator? hehe and somewhat shaped like a pretzel? Interesting ha. Does it make shadow application easier?
