THE VERDICT:

I've a few readers who asked where can they find an affordable BB Cream that's tolerable for combination-oily skin. Here you go: Hayan Korea BB Cream.

HAYAN KOREA BB CREAM #23 IN DETAIL

This BB Cream promises to whiten skin and diminish signs of aging while controlling sebum. Claims that it suits all skin types. It's regularly priced at P700.00, but now, it's being offered at P390.00 only. Don't know how long the discount will last though, but decide right away if you want to get it or not so you can take advantage of it.

It comes in a squeeze tube and in one size only, and the tube is pretty small and there isn't a lot of product inside-it's like it's only filled halfway-This is something I've noticed with most BB Creams lately. :/

Before swatching, I thought that this is another product that's good for fair skin tones only, but surprise, surprise, it sorta' fits my skin tone, although undertone is pink. Hayan Korea's BB Cream comes in four shades, and fair and medium- skinned gals get to have a fair share of options.

Consistency is slightly creamy but light, and has a very, very light powdery scent. It spreads easily, although payoff can be a lil' streaky. Coverage is light to medium. The downside is, it has no SPF.

HAYAN KOREA BB CREAM #23 IN ACTION

With ArtDeco Camouflage Cream + Makeup Factory Light Reflecting Concealer

One layer of Hayan Korea BB Cream in #23

Unfortunately, it turned out whitish on my skin. Methinks the product is short on pigments, although it evens out the skin for a little while adding a dewy effect. That said, it's best used with a facial concealer to hide discolorations. It feels a little sticky at first, but texture becomes a lil' matte after a few seconds.

It lasts for about 3- 4 hours, depending on how oily your skin is. The con is, it fades completely at the end of the day. On the upside, it feels comfy on my combination-oily skin and keeps it balanced. However, it does not have superb oil- controlling properties, albeit it doesn't exacerbate oiliness. In my opinion, this is not good for all skin types as I think this won't fare so well on dry skin: it's not that moisturizing, hence it may enhance dry spots. I also think that the shades can cater to fair and medium skin tones only.

In general, this is an okay BB Cream if you're not too picky like me-just set it with powder foundation or a tinted pressed powder and you're good to go. If you're just looking for something affordable to try, and you have almost perfect skin and you just want something that will give your skin a dewy effect, try this. I wear it on laid-back days especially when the weather is cool. Best suits slight to moderate combination-oily skin.

  1. Sad, no spf. Maybe soon, they will realize that BB creams as much as possible should be an all-in-one product to compete in the market.

  2. I had a not so pretty experience with BB creams, first BB cream I tried was from Maybelline the one from the tube. It has good coverage on me but it gives me breakouts kaya I don't use BB creams lately. The swatch looks promising, looks like it was made for medium-skinned girls. However it looks like it leaves a white cast on photos? Since you advised that it won't be compatible with dry skin, then I'm passing up on this product. hihi thanks for the review :)

  5. Is this available on one shade only? I love but I don't think this will match my skin tone and type. And besides, I based on your rating.

  8. Stephanie: This isn't the only BB cream that doesn't have spf. :) But yah, BB creams should normally have spf since it's called a BLEMISH BALM CREAM, and sunscreen is vital in inhibiting melanin formation on the skin surface. :)

Rhain: Yup! Exactly! The eyeshadows are very reminiscent of NYX! I even laughed when I saw that! Nope, don't know if they're selling though :)

    Itsmefati: It's available in 4 shades, I believe :)

Peachy Pink: Welcome! Glad it helped you out. :)

    Mary Chua: LOL! Thanks :D

Tellie: TRUEEEDAT! I didn't point that out in the blog post anymore because it pains me every time I'm reminded that I have those bumps hahaha!

Ravene: For dry skin, it should be used with a moisturizer because finish is semi-matte. Hayan has other good products though so I'd recommend that you check out the loose powder, sheet masks, and body products. :)
