THE VERDICT:

Hair Fiber in mascaras is one of the best beauty inventions ever because it gives life and length to super short lashes. The downside is, it could poke and get inside the eyes. If you need the length, but hate putting up with hair fibers, you might want to try something that has liquid fiber. Is there such a thing? You're about to find out right now. Well, I'm sure there are other brands out there that offer liquid fiber mascaras, but so far, this is the cheapest and it's from Lavish House of Beauty-it's called Charming Dense Feather Mascara.

LAVISH HOUSE OF BEAUTY CHARMING DENSE FEATHER MASCARA (BLACK) IN DETAIL

Charming Dense promises long and lean lashes with their waterproof formula. It comes in another variant, which is intended for lengthening.

Ingredients

Despite the price, the tube feels very exquisite. It's made from lightweight metal, btw.

It comes with a traditional wand. Consistency of the mascara is like a thick, creamy, bouncy mousse. If you've noticed, the edge of the mascara has this thin, hair- like strand, which is not hair fiber, but the actual mascara. I find that as you apply the product onto your lashes, the gunk keeps on elongating itself until it reaches its full potential. If you're familiar with hair putty/hair wax that you'd have to warm up on your palm and pull upwards to soften the texture and create very thin fibers, that's pretty much the concept behind this mascara.

LAVISH HOUSE OF BEAUTY CHARMING DENSE FEATHER MASCARA (BLACK) IN ACTION

Bare lashes

One coat

Two coats

Three coats

Oooohhh. Notice that my lashes became significantly longer. However, no volumizing effect took place. It separates lashes nicely, giving you that wispy, feathery look, albeit I find the gunk too sticky and takes a while to dry up, and has a tendency to clump and smudge for a bit. It's washable, at least.

I don't mean to brag, but I have pretty long lashes and I need volume more than anything else so this is not for me, but I'd have to applaud the liquid fiber concept. Great for those who have sensitive eyes, and those who definitely need length but hate the inconvenience that hair fibers sometimes bring.

  1. Interesting mascara. I still have a ton of mascaras that I have not even opened yet, but I have never tried one that has hair fibers.

  5. Brown Oso: Really?! :D They're great, but takes time to wear perfectly. Majolica Majorca is famous for hair fiber mascaras. :)

Fati: Yes Fati! And the price is perfect for students too! :)

Rhain: Yup, three to four tubes should be healthy, but I can use up around two or three only because I don't like throwing away my mascaras quickly-most of them are pricey or I get attached to the effect. Lavish House Of Beauty, however, is far from where you live so please just inquire if they allow online orders. :)

Mary Chua: Oh, if you need volume, I wouldn't recommend this. Maybelline is the way to go :)
