THE VERDICT:

Almost all BB Creams promise to do the same things: they promise to defy aging, whiten skin, protect you from the sun, give you moisture, but have you actually encountered a BB Cream that claims to fight zits? Maybe not! Well, you're about to meet one now through this post and it's The Body Shop's Flawless Tea Tree Oil BB Cream! :)

THE BODY SHOP TEA TREE FLAWLESS BB CREAM IN 02 IN DETAIL

This BB Cream is the last step in The Body Shop's Tea Tree skin care routine and is suitable for blemished skin as it fights acne- causing bacteria with Tea Tree extract that's ethically sourced from the sustainable Tea Tree farms in Kenya. It comes in two shades only, 01 for fair and light skin, and 02 for light and medium skin.

Ingredients

More about this face- soothing and zit- inhibiting product after the jump!

Product comes in a 40ml squeeze tube. Upon opening, I could literally smell the soothing scent of Tea Tree! If you dislike its fragrance, then Houston, we have a problem :p

02 is a medium beige shade with a neutral undertone. It yields a nice cooling effect, spreads out nicely, and has light to medium coverage. I noticed that it doesn't budge that easy when I tried rubbing off the product residue with a wet wipe from my hand, which may mean that it has good wear time.

THE BODY SHOP TEA TREE FLAWLESS BB CREAM IN 02 IN ACTION

Two layers of the BB Cream

The BB Cream has a sheer consistency so nope, it can't really conceal bumps protruding zits this is why I wear it with thick facial correctors and concealers-it's pretty good at giving you a more even- looking and brighter skin though! 02 fits my skin just fine and I find that it adjusts to my natural skin tone nicely. Payoff is semi- matte and it feels so light and soothing on the skin.

Staying power is okay: It takes me around 3 hours before I retouch my T-Zone and it fades for a wee bit after about 5 hours, which is pretty impressive for a BB Cream. I didn't break out from it and I also noticed that during my 1 week religious usage, most of my tiny face bumps did not evolve into full- grown zits (surprisingly, I got lucky with Tea Tree this time around), although I wouldn't recommend it as an acne treatment. It's good for oily and acne- prone skin because it has a non-clogging texture and it's a nice everyday BB Cream with decent coverage.

  2. Tea Tree oil is very well known talaga to prevent zits! I actually use Body Shop's pure tea tree oil for spot treatment, and it works amazing I swear! I don't really know na it has a BB Cream variant din, I just make a beeline for the pure oil then I go straight to the cashier. I'll visit one of their stores nga and check out this awesome product.

  3. I don't understand why Body Shop doesn't do SPF with their BB creams. WHYYYY. :((

  4. At least it can stop full growing zits because most of the bb cream does! I think the price is competitive because of this extraordinary power of fighting zits that most of the bb cream does! I want to try it for myself! :)

  5. As a spot treatment, it did well. BUt as for covering the bump, hmm not so much. Not so much staying power din. I'm using the oil for spot treatment as well so I'd rather use that than this bb cream. But at least, this is a good start from The Body Shop. :) improve their formula a bit and they would be the leader in bb creams.

  6. I have actually been using this bb cream for some time and I find that it doesn't really help with the zits. Actually, I find my skin a bit more oily whenever I use this. It seems that it doesn't really agree well with my skin. It does provide decent coverage, though. What I actually do love is the pore minimizer that came with this bb cream when I bought it. I'll be doing a review of it also.

  8. I'd probably like it if it has a decent amount of coverage especially since I purchase BB/CC creams because what I know is that these focus on skincare and also offer at least a decent amount of coverage(Makeup plus skincare combined!) which is why I'm drawn to it.

I've tried the pore minimizer from this line before and I loved it though!

  10. @Cath Uri

Yup, I love the pore minimizer, too! Some people may be put off by the "herbal" smell because of the tea tree oil in it but I love it!

  12. Hazel and Hershey: Thank you! :D

Tess: same. Salicylic acid is the only ingredient that works on my zits! Looking forward to your review!

Jessy: Same here, but I think I won't be able to update everyone on that because my skin resists tea tree oil. :/

Cath: Cool! I'd love to try that out too and I hope it works on me!

    Mabelita: right on!

Abegaill: I hope they'll look into creating a foundation product for this range!

eddielli: Awesome. let me know how you like it. :)

Anonymous: Hi there and welcome to my blog! IKR! Wish they'd add spf in their face bases soon!

Shary: Cool! I'd love to try that oil thing and see if it works better than the water- based tea tree oil zit remover.

  13. I would love to try this one. Especially that it has tea tree oil. I have been trying BB creams with different ingredients and the best one I've tried is from The Face Shop. It didn't break me out and provides great coverage.

  14. Not-so-secret ingredient, but a good one all the same! I am a believer of tea tree oil being used to clear skin. I've tried TBS Tea Tree Oil face wash and was impressed by the results. No doubt this BB will be just as mean on zits.

Wonder if it has the same scent as the face wash. It's refreshing to the nose eh. :) --Matromao
