THE VERDICT:

We've all had moments wherein we felt that the world was at our feet. Well how about having an ocean on your face? Have you felt that? That doesn't sound nice, but it wasn't for our hearing in the first place-it's something that you should feel and I just did. Having an ocean on your face is like not feeling fresh, but embodying freshness itself and experiencing moisture in its purest form. Do you get me? I sound like a weirdo now so let me just tell you to grab Hada Labo's Super Hyaluronic Moisturizing Lotion, this Japanese cult classic that promises to lock up an ocean on your face with just one drop-sounds too exaggerated, but believe me, it pretty much gives you that experience and after finishing just half of my bottle, I got super moisturized, plump, and even nicer- looking skin!

HADA LABO SUPER HYALURONIC MOISTURIZING LOTION IN DETAIL

Hada Labo said that one bottle of this product gets sold in Japan every 4 seconds, making it their superstar product. This product contains three types of Hyaluronic Acid: There's the normal Hyaluronic Acid, which we all know helps retain water on the skin's surface, then Super Hyaluronic Acid that has twice the moisture- retaining ability of regular Hyaluronic Acid, and finally, Nano Hyaluronic Acid that goes deep down the pores to hydrate skin from within. It is formulated to be fragrance- free, hypoallergenic, mild, has low pH, and formulated to minimize skin irritation.

This is the first product that I looked for when I went to Japan, but failed to buy one for a couple of reasons: 1. All of Hada Labo's products almost have the same label and packaging 2. I cannot comprehend Japanese text to save my life. 3. The friendly SAs tried their best to help me, but unfortunately, language barrier got in the way. In Japan, this product is roughly P500.00 and I got mine in Malaysia (where the bottle had decent English translation on it) for P700.00+-I could've gotten it cheaper, but an extra P200.00 ain't that bad. Some online sellers in the Philippines are selling this product at P1,000.00 and some at a whopping P1,500.00. P1,000.00 is acceptable, but P1,500.00? Hmmm….

So why do I love this product very much? Click READ MORE and let my skin show you why!

Product is a clear, viscous liquid with zero fragrance. It's like a clear emulsion that feels so fresh, yet a lil' bit sticky in the beginning. When the product is finally absorbed by the skin (which takes just around 3 minutes), your skin will feel super moist and smooth, and absolutely non- sticky- methinks this is how Hyaluronic Acid truly feels like.

This product is actually a toner, but I use it as a moisturizer because I feel that it's too thick to be a toner I got the idea of using it as a moisturizer because ZA Cosmetics' Total Hydration Dewy Moisturizer is very similar to it. Consistency is very reminiscent of Shiseido Ibuki's Softening Lotion too.

HADA LABO SUPER HYALURONIC MOISTURIZING LOTION IN DETAIL

I started using this product last June and here's my skin after 3 months of consistent usage (and I've only finished half of the bottle. It's so economical!). How do I use it? I pour around 2-4 drops on one palm, rub it in between my palms, and dab the product onto my face-a cotton pad also sounds a great idea. I only use it every night and as a replacement for night creams because I would always wake up with greasy skin with the latter-it works pretty well as a night moisturizer for me because I would always wake up with fresh, soft, and moisturized skin with it even if the temperature is too cold, but please note that I have combination oily-normal skin. However, I do not use it during daytime because it needs a moment to settle into the skin and I always have better things to do than to wait for my skin to absorb it.

I did not notice any change the day after my first usage, but after a week, I felt that my skin's moisture levels have improved because skin got a lot less oilier during the day. And the feel, oh the feel of my skin! It's just so plush, so bouncy, so soft, and so cloud- like-that's what perfectly- hydrated skin feels like!

After three months, I've noticed that apart from the nice skin texture I got, breakouts became less frequent too. In case you didn't know, hydration is one of the keys to blemish- free skin.

I don't see any reason why you should not try it because it's gentle (no breakouts!) and it's probably the most hydrating toner/moisturizer out there. If you've been meaning to try it, go ahead-just be sure that you're going to get the right product because Hada Labo's Moisturizing Milk has the same packaging and label too so it'll be quite easy to confuse the two-Moisturizing Milk is moisturizer and Moisturizing Lotion is toner, which is this one. This product is definitely perfect for everyone, but those with dry skin may need to supplement with heavier creams to battle flakiness. Other than that, I'm very, very happy with this product and I will buy it again!

  1. Wow, I wanted to try this product na. :) I have a combi skin too, so this would be perfect for me as well. Same here, my face gets oily when I use night creams. :/ I've been hearing a lot of positive comments about Hada Labo. I hope they would be available soon in the Philippines as well. Sellers here are putting too much mark up. :/

  2. I did hear that seawater is very good on skin issues, so maybe that ocean on the face thing makes a lot of sense!

Maybe Hada Labo will be brought in here too, given the recent influx of Japanese brands lately. *crosses fingers*

  3. Love your clearer and glowing face!!! Hada Labo Hyaluronic Lotion truly is effective, if I will to base it on your experience. Japan is notable for their high standard products. I also tried a sunscreen in milk from Japan, OMG it's heaven sent.. Glad I've tried it.. One more thing, their products come in handy containers :D

  4. I've used up an entire bottle of this Hadalabo and I can truly say it has saved my face from dryness. Whenever I have facial cleaning, the attendant (different attendants!) will always comment on how dry my skin is, but after using this, I was never told the same anymore! There are instructional videos on YouTube on how to use this, basically just put few drops on palm, and pat on face until absorbed.
