Marsala was announced by Pantone as the year- round color for 2015-it is characterized as a 'naturally robust and earthy wine red' that is meant to 'enrich our minds, bodies, and souls.'

Here's Pantone's reason for choosing Marsala as the color for 2015:

2015 is the year of the Sheep and I've read in Feng Shui forecasts that this incoming year will be, in general, calmer than 2014 and more prosperous, based on the characteristics of the Sheep and this is why I think Marsala is fitting to be this year's IT color as it is calm yet somewhat spirited and it reminds us of the earth, the source of life and abundance.

However, not all may find this as good news because Marsala, to be honest, is a 'mature' color. Luckily for me, I like it and it's so morena- friendly-I like this one better than last year's color, Radiant Orchid.

Here are a couple of lippies that I think I'll be wearing often this year. Technically, they're not Marsala, but they're the closest I could find. The coming days will surely be exciting because I believe brands are starting to whip up their very own Marsala- inspired collections!

What do you think of this year's IT color?

  2. I find the color sexy yet not too flirty! :) The color is super wearable in terms of clothing. And of course, a lot of lippies would definitely match it. :)

  6. I've been rummaging my stash for something Marsala-ish and made me realize that I don't have one. LOL. I've been hooked on buying really bright lipsticks last year. At least I have another excuse to buy more lipsticks. hahaha
    Happy New Year Martha!

  7. I'm honestly more excited about Marsala shadows and blushes than the lip products. It's something that would look completely amazing come fall. Yeah, that's speaking so soon, but it's just that kind of luxurious color. :))
