Shiseido Perfecting Stick Concealer in 33 Review + Swatches

Here's a review on Shiseido Perfecting Stick Concealer in 33.

THE VERDICT:

In general, cream concealers have a stiff, hard to blend texture, which makes them unsuitable for under eye use just because tugging will be inevitable when you work the product onto this area, and the result could be premature wrinkles. While there are soft, buttery cream concealers, I find their coverage blah 90% of the time!

But there are exceptions like this new concealer from Shiseido called Perfecting Stick Concealer, a favorite find of mine lately. It covers like cream yet glides on and feels like liquid, making it versatile enough to be used both as an under eye concealer and face concealer, thereby saving you more money and time.

SHISEIDO PERFECTING STICK CONCEALER IN 33 IN DETAIL

This new Shiseido concealer is made with Bind and Fit Wax, a concentrated network of oil and pigments that break down into a liquid- like texture when applied on the skin. It comes in 6 shades.

If you have medium and medium dark skin (okay, let's refer to MAC: NC30, NC35, NC40, and NC42), choose 33, this shade that I will swatch for everyone today.

Check out why this is my best cream concealer find yet after the break!

33 is a medium beige shade with a yellow undertone-I like this shade a lot because it appears just like my skin tone, not concealer. Coverage is medium to full and even if you layer it on, it will still look natural, almost skin- like as showcased in the above photo. Whatever the Bind And Fit Wax technology is, it's amazing because it gives the concealer a liquid feel and texture so I don't encounter caking, creasing, and heaviness with it. It is fragrance- free too. The wax has a soft consistency, yet it's not the type that is prone to melting, although I would not dare leave it in a place with a scorching temperature. My only problem with this product is it doesn't offer a good range of shades. Like, really? A coffee brown- colored concealer? :p

SHISEIDO PERFECTING STICK CONCEALER IN 33 IN ACTION

Bare under eye

One layer on my under eye

99% of the time, I find that one layer would suffice for my under eyes and two for my dark marks on the cheeks. It can last the whole day without fading, it's pretty sweat- proof, and what I like most about it is I don't have to tug the skin on my under eyes when I'm blending it!

This is one cream concealer that I shall truly treasure and repurchase because it is versatile, handy, long- wearing, light, natural- looking, economical, and it has a unique formula that covers really well yet feels very light. I think every concealer- loving person should try this product, provided that they find a shade match. Its consistency has the right creaminess to it, therefore I believe it will work on just about any skin type, whether oily, combination, normal, or dry. Now for dry skin types, here's a cream concealer that  I think you will love!

  1. I wonder how this compares to Shiseido's own (more expensive) Cle de Peau concealer. Can this be a close dupe, seeing as it's from the same mother company?

  2. I still need to learn how to apply concealers properly. I always fail at them for some reason, hehe. But I will take note of this. :)

  3. That's why I'm in love with their products! Very Efficient and true to its content! Wish I could win your giveaways to try and give it to my mom this Mother's Day. (^....^) Happy Thursday Ms. Martha!

  5. A zombie like me needs something like this. But since i'm a stay-at-home mom and i seldom go out, i don't buy concealers. I just rely on my foundation in covering my dark eye circles and i was like "my eyebags are none of your business and they don't mind what you think of them". haha!

  6. I seldom use concealers but the product looks great on you considering you only used one layer.

  10. Matromao: Oh, I tried that when I went to Japan with Shiseido. :) It has the coverage of a stick foundation-coverage is better than this, but it looks as natural as this. It looks like a very awesome product, but what inhibited me from buying was the price. P3,000.00 for a concealer!? No thanks. :p

Rhain: How was your experience? WHich ones do you like better? :)

Flexxy: Yup, I agree with the Dyosa statement haha!

Anne: Or maybe get it for your birthday haha. :D #enabler

Jhake: LOL! But I gotta admire your devil-may-care attitude. :)

  12. I've tried this concealer during the IBF event but it didn't work well on me. :/ It streaks on my face and the coverage didn't last long. I'm not sure why but maybe I did the wrong thing. I hope I can try it again to check if it is really not for me. :/

  14. Wow. :o I love its coverage on your under eye. It had a great consistency but I think it's a bit pricey for me. Could you suggest some concealers which have goof coverage fro discolorations but at the same time affordable? Thanks! :)
