THE VERDICT:

Sunscreens are getting lighter and lighter each day, and I think that's good news-finally, people will have no more reason to skip wearing it in the same way that they have no more reason to not eat healthy because there are literally TONS of great- tasting healthy food out there nowadays.

But Benefit sets the standard for another kind of sunscreen: Invisible Sunscreen. Whoa!

When I got my hands on this product, I got so intrigued that I immediately tried it on to find out why Benefit unabashedly called it Dream Screen. When it has finally settled onto my skin, I went "Woooww" because it's super light, truly invisible, mattifying, and fragrance- free, making it the perfect sunscreen for combination oily/normal and oily skin types. Not only does it protect the skin from UV rays, Dream Screen acts like a moisturizer and primer, too!

BENEFIT COSMETICS DREAM SCREEN IN DETAIL

This broad spectrum sunscreen has SPF 45 PA+++ and promises to protect you with its light,  silky-matte, invisible finish. It comes in one size only, 45ml.

Ingredients

More about this oily skin- friendly sunscreen after the jump!

Product comes in a squeeze bottle with a quirky design-I'm loving the cork- like cap! The bottle is actually made of plastic, but the way it's designed took out the tackiness, which is innate with this material.

Dream Screen is a pretty runny product. It is unscented and actually looks and feels like oil, but fret not because its formula is oil- free. It's very spreadable, sets onto the skin in about 2-3 minutes, and dries off to a smooth, matte finish that doesn't make the skin feel taut. Its moisturizer- like feel makes me skip moisturizer sometimes and its slight mattifying effect makes me skip primer sometimes. However, this product does not claim to moisturize skin nor prolong makeup wear-these are just my personal experiences and observations. :) If you have really oily and dry skin, please prime or moisturize your skin (depending on your needs) before using this product. I'd also like to point out that this is high on Polymer, Methicone, and Dimethicone, and uses synthetic UV filters so please use with caution if you're allergic to these ingredients.

BENEFIT COSMETICS DREAM SCREEN IN ACTION

One layer of Benefit Dream Screen

Dream Screen does not make my skin feel oily and does not make my skin feel clogged even if I accidentally put a lot-no breakouts with it, too. Its silky matte finish makes my makeup stay on better, although it's not of great significance. Its super lightweight, white cast- free formula makes it perfect to use under makeup and in the city because it literally feels invisible on the skin!

Aside from the price, I can't think of any other issue with the product. I love it at the moment because it's very travel- friendly, suits my combination oily-normal skin perfectly, and it's so, so versatile. I think this sunscreen will suit those with normal and slightly dry skin types as well!

  4. This product sounds great but the price is beyond my usual budget for sunscreen. I currently used Belo Sunblock Gel, it has lower SPF but it does not cause any break-out or white cast.

  5. Oh-kay.. The issue was indeed on my end bcoz I can finally share my thoughts. Whew! Anyway, the fact that it's matte and has SPF 45 is totally cool; however, it's pricey for me. *Sigh*

  7. I couldn't say how much I want to try this product but it's just way too pricey for me. At least we should be glad with the product innovations nowadays. The no white cast, matte finish and lightweight are some of the factors that we've been wanting on a good sunscreen.

  10. Jeremy: It virtually has not scent :)

    Anisah: You're welcome. :)

Serg: Hello! That depends on how oily your skin is, but on me, I stay oil- free for a good 3-4 hours with it provided that I'm using a non-oily base. :)

Elle: True! I feel you with the price. :p I hope Benefit will come out with smaller, cheaper sizes of this product for trial purposes. :)
