THE VERDICT:

I will forever remember Etude House because of this skin care range: Collagen Moistfull. I've had less-than-stellar skin months before using this line and it has improved by a huge lot when I started using it. In fact, it's the skin care range that reinforced in my head that Hydration, truly, is the game changer for skin; it even taught me a good habit and that is to keep my skin hydrated at all times. I have many, many good things to say about this product so let me not spoil it here at the intro. To start, what I will say is if you have normal, oily, and combination oily/normal skin that looks unhealthy and needs a hydration boost, this nourishing range will be your best friend.

ETUDE HOUSE COLLAGEN MOISTFULL SKIN CARE IN DETAIL

Collagen Moistfull is a moisturizing and hydrating skin care range. Features 30% Pure Marine- derived Hydrolyzed Collagen and extracts from Baobab Tree, which is known to be the "Tree of Life" due to its intense hydrating properties. Aside from Hydration, Collagen Moistfull also promises to supply Collagen to the skin and is Paraben, Talc, Mineral, Benzophenon- free, hypoallergenic; it is apparently one of the well- loved Korean skin care lines all over the world.

The products are either sold separately or as this set. The set is around P3,000.00+ and features the following: Facial Freshener, Emulsion, Cream, Ampoule Essence, and Sleeping Pack. There are travel- sized versions of the Facial Freshener, Emulsion, Ampoule Essence, and Cream too. What I'm missing here are the eye cream and facial wash. I learned that this range has other products as well such as first essence, essential massage, essence, BB Cream, and CC Cream, but I don't think they're available in the Philippines (except the CC Cream).

I believe this is a limited edition set, but I still saw it in an Etude House store sometime last month. Just inquire to know about its availability.

Read all about this superbly nourishing, renewing, and hydrating skin care range after the jump.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull Facial Freshener

- A mild toner that claims to supply skin with Collagen and keeps it firm, hydrated, and fresh.

Some will argue that this product is an essence, some will say it's a toner. I do believe it's the latter, but only in a thicker, much moisturizing form. It removes deep- seated dirt, does not sting, immediately takes away the tautness caused by cleansing, and prepares my skin for the rest of my routine. It's just so hard to take it out of the bottle that I had to remove the holed stopper from the mouth of the bottle to make my life easier.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull Emulsion

- A light, hydrating moisturizer.

This milky moisturizer absorbs fairly quickly into and leaves a dewy barrier on the skin, but I do think it's more perfect for oily, combination oily/normal, and normal skin types than dry skin. By the way, this is the biggest moisturizer I have ever seen and it will probably take me more than a year to finish it. I've been using it for 7 months now and I still haven't used it halfway.

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Ampoule Essence

- Promises to provide long- lasting, deep moisture to the skin, claims to improve elasticity, and has wrinkle- improving effects.

This watery gel essence counts as Serum in my books; it is so light and refreshing, and the unique formula helps it stay longer onto my skin; However, a cream/moisturizer would still be needed to seal it in.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull Cream

- A rich cream that deeply moisturizes and promises to restore elasticity and promote hydration longer.

This cream has a unique bouncy texture and I think it will suit dry skin types. It's very concentrated and just like the emulsion, it's something that you won't be able to use up in one year. Between all the Collagen Moistfull products, this one has the most opaque consistency and it may break out some individuals, especially those with really sensitive skin.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull Sleeping Pack

- Seals in all of the Collagen Moistfull products on your skin while providing additional elasticity- improving and deep moisturizing effects.

I only used this product once because I realized, my fondness for Sleeping Packs is just fleeting. It used to be fun, until I realized that pillow streaks are nasty. What I remember with this product is it settles onto the skin quickly, but just like most sleeping packs, it makes you feel that there's a filmy sheet on top of your skin and it stains pillow cases. :p

ETUDE HOUSE COLLAGEN MOISTFULL SKIN CARE LINE IN ACTION

Two months after using Collagen Moistfull Line

I took this photo right after waking up and exactly on my second month of usage of this line. Two months before this photo, I had pretty troubled, unhealthy skin: zits dispersed all over my face, dryness on the sides of my nose and lips, and overall, my skin tone looked dull. In the first month, my skin's tone and texture have somewhat improved, although I still had a couple of zits. By the second month, my skin has improved big time and I noticed that my breakouts have gotten infrequent. Overall, my skin got healthier, looked more plump, and had this eternal dewy look.

While using this line, I'd still get a zit or two and I would use my preferred spot treatments to treat them. Please note that this line and any hydrating skin care range in general, I believe, can only make your skin resilient, but it doesn't make it immune to bacteria and should not be considered as replacements for acne treatment, especially for severe acne.

So what can I say about the Collagen claim? Nothing because first of all, I do not know what Collagen looks like so I did not really "see" and "feel" if the products in this range had this skin protein. Second, Collagen molecules are too big to penetrate the pores so I find this claim rather strange.

Despite the hydrating and moisturizing claim, I do believe that this range is much more suited to oily, combination oily/normal, and normal skin types due to the consistency of the products.

Plain and simple, Collagen Moistfull is just a superbly hydrating range, which is sometimes enough to keep the skin healthy--it's perfect for you if you want to rejuvenate your skin given that you don't break out from it. I also love the fact that for only 3k, you get an entire skin care set whereas with other boutique skin care brands, that's the price for a serum only. Through Collagen Moistfull, I've proven to myself once again that hydration is the difference- maker for the skin and most of the time, what's simple is what works.

  1. i love etude house products! i'm interested on sleeping packs since i heard from a fellow blogger (whose currently living in korea) that sleeping packs have big impact in their skin regimen although sad to say it stains. but there's a korean tip that she shared - pillowcases builds up bacteria and can cause acne because when you sleep you tend to roll around so instead of exchanging your pillow case every night (which is okay if you want to), you can just put a face towel on your pillow instead and exchange it every night, it's easy to wash and so darn cheap. this way also, you don't have to skip putting on the sleeping pack ;)

  2. I also love this skin care line from Etude House. I've tried the freshner, moisturizer and emulsion but I love the emulsion the most. I am so into light but hydrating moisturizers and it seems like emulsions are the way to go. I'd like to use the moisturizer but I really much prefer moisturizers on a tube rather on a tub. It's much more hygienic, I must say. I am currently using an emulsion from their Age Defense line and it's one hefty bottle. It cost me a lot but I think it will last me for a long time. Thanks for this post! :)

  3. I only have the CC cream right now but i haven't tried it yet, the box is still unopened. I will try it later this afternoon. I'll see later how it will work on my oily t-zone. From all the items that you've mentioned, i am more interested with the Moistfull Emulsion because you said that it's a light, hydrating moisturizer and i prefer moisturizers that way. Knowing your feedback and seeing the results in the photos makes me believe that this is good. If i could shell out 3k for my skincare items right now, i would definitely purchase this line. I agree, with you Ms. Martha, this is already affordable since it comes in set.

    1. I can't believe how affordable this line is when I learned that it is very effective. I was like, "Etude House, are you serious with your pricing?" But then again, I won't say no to affordable yet good products! :)

  5. It just goes to show that moisturizing/hydration is really something that you cannot skip in your skincare regimen. I have had troubled skin for quite a long time and I used to use treatment products like acne creams and other strong chemicals right after washing my face thinking that it is all I really need, forgetting that the three step basic skin care (cleanse, tone, moisturize) is just as important.

I am obsessed with Etude House make up, how affordable it is and the wide range they offer. Would love to try their skincare products soon!

  6. I swear by Etude House when it comes to hydration! Well, Korean brands in general. For the past few months, I've been religiously following your 12-step Korean Skin Care Regimen and I've never felt more glowing, to be honest. I will always believe that one's skin is a worthwhile investment.

    1. wow! That's great to hear. :D Actually, this skin care set is the shortcut to that regimen, for me. Any skin care product will do too as long as hydration is the main effect. :)

  7. I have the Collagen emulsion and Im currently using it for about 3 weeks already. My friends say I look "fresh" even though I just came from work and I expect that I either look puyat, tired, or sleepy. I think I have to try the other products in this line to have the full effect.

  8. I have become an Etude House fan since late last year, thanks to my Korean-wannabe colleague. Haha. This set, for me, would be worth it's cost since it has all the products one would need to keep their skin healthy and beautiful. If only I don't get any whiteheads whenever I use collagen-infused products, I'd love to save moolah for this and give it a try. =(

  12. I have this same set and I'm not sure how to use it first. Through research, I've learned how and when to use them. I have combi skin and while/after I used the set, many people have noticed my dewy skin. :) This is a really good investment. I also love the travel sizes as I can continue using the range even when I'm out of town without the hassle of bringing the big bottles. They're so heavy to bring. :)
