THE VERDICT:

Well, looks like BB Cream is still the IT face base for a lot of people, at least in the Philippines, based on questions I get from readers and information that I gathered from random conversations with friends, makeup enthusiasts, and latest beauty articles on the net. Looks like it's gonna be here for a couple more years so maybe we'd all fancy a BB Cream review today?

The newest BB Cream in my stash is Yadah Twin Angel BB Cream With Lip And Cheek Tint. This product has a pretty cool concept and I really like that the BB Cream is a near dupe of my favorite Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream!

YADAH TWIN ANGEL BB CREAM WITH LIP AND CHEEK IN DETAIL

This base and color product features Niacinamide that helps repair the skin, Adenosine for anti-aging function, Cactus Flower Extract from the rare Native Opuntia Ficus, a type of Cactus, and SPF 35 PA++. Both the BB Cream and Lip And Cheek Tint come in one shade only.

Ingredients

The Lip And Cheek Tint is strategically hidden at the base of the cap plus it includes an emergency mirror for emergency touch- ups. Very reminiscent of Collection Cosmetics Cover And Go Concealer + Foundation.

The BB Cream has a semi- creamy consistency and yields medium to full coverage. Surprisingly opaque for a BB Cream, but it's fine by me as I prefer such coverage most of the time. It has a faint powdery floral scent. The shade is a medium beige shade with a yellow undertone. It looked fine on the hand swatch until I applied it on my face. :p

The Lip And Cheek Tint is a bit creamy. The moment I touched it, I knew right away that it wouldn't feel great on the cheeks. I was right. Yadah should've diluted the consistency more so it doesn't feel sticky on the face. :p

YADAH TWIN ANGEL BB CREAM WITH LIP AND CHEEK IN ACTION

Here's the Lip And Cheek Tint. Shade is pale Pink and it highlighted the dry areas on my lips--I thought it would be a good lip balm/lip tint. Consistency is too thick for a cheek cream and too sheer for a lip balm so I don't really know what to make of this product. Probably a lip highlighter that I can dab on the middle of my lips to create an Ombre effect? Why not. I did not bother taking a photo of this product on my cheeks because it does not show up anyway.

One layer of the BB Cream

First, let me briefly discuss the semi- caveat of this product (I said semi- caveat because the caveat is very easy to fix): It looked good on the hand swatch, but it turned white when I applied it on my face. Not really sure what the problem here is, but I believe it's the lack of pigments and pretty high SPF.

If you find its shade too light like me, a shade- matching powder will seal the deal for you. I like how cooperative this BB Cream is because once it's set with any correcting powder shade, its white cast mellows down and becomes much more bearable. Easy as pie!

Staying power is good: I get oily after about 3 or 4 hours, but coverage lasts the whole day. It even gives my skin a glowing effect.

It moisturizes without inducing excess sebum production, is spreadable, and coverage is quite even and has a smoothing effect, like my favorite Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream. It's a pity that I haven't written any review for that product, but I just wanna say that it's my favorite BB Cream ever because it's like foundation, but with a lighter and gentler formula, and shade selection is ample. Yadah Twin Angel BB Cream's consistency and performance is pretty close to this favorite Missha BB Cream of mine and that, my friends, is the saving grace of this product. Price is not bad too.

Yadah Twin Angel BB Cream is great for almost any skin type (take caution, peeps with extra sensitive skin) and it's for those who want something in between a BB Cream and Foundation. It's also an affordable dupe for Missa Perfect Cover BB Cream in my opinion. Just don't mind the lip and cheek tint. ;)

  1. I don't use foundations and BB creams often because I don't like the heavy feeling but I've had my fair share of experiences with BB creams. They're OK but I find that BB creams, especially the Korean ones, are not really morena-friendly. The only BB creams I know that's morena-friendly and has good coverage are the Precious Minerals one from Etude House, the Cotton Delight(?) not entirely sure what its name is from Tony Moly, and the cushion BB from Laneige. Western BB creams have shades for morena skin toned gals but they don't perform as well as Korean brands that's why I only stick to foundations now. I don't wear base makeup on an everyday basis so I skip on the BB creams altogether but being the makeup enthusiast I am, if I find an interesting BB cream I might give it a try. Thanks for this post! :)

    1. As for me, Foundation over BB Cream. :D

Tony Moly is actually a good brand of BB Cream and to date, it's the accessible and affordable BB Cream that has good shade options for morenas. :)

  5. Most bb creams are too white just like this yadah bb cream but it has a good coverage. Not bad. Yadah products is affordable too so it would not hard for anyone to try this out. Btw, your correcting powder was really good:)

  6. when i saw the face application i was like whoah!! it's too white compared when swatched on your hand. glad that it still worked well with just a quick powder fix. korean BB creams in general is not morena friendly because they are basically made for korean skin so this is expected however i'm still thankful that they made this goodness because it's skin-friendly hydration wise+plus the goodness! but ultimate crush at the moment would be the bb cushion. they're amazeballs! i get to try the laniege!! ugh! thank goodness for them, :D

  7. I thought it would be a perfect shade match based on the hand swatch but boom on the face. Too pale, too pale. I haven't tried Missha BB yet even if it's one of the most raved about BBs ever. I gave my current BB to my mom when she said she wants to try it so right now, I'm not using any bb creams, just Happy Skin liquid foundation.

    2. The one I'm using is actually the one I got from Liz's 7th anniversary, the one I got from you is my back up because this is a really good foundation and it matches my skin perfectly <3 I'm maybe more than halfway my first bottle and was super glad I got a back up :) Thank you :D I use it everyday but no one in school thinks that I'm wearing foundation :P Super wearable and it stays on for a long time on my skin :D It doesn't randomly melt off :D

  8. Aww, I thought it would be good. Well, it's good for the price. I wonder how it works on fair skin. :) The lip and cheek tint is so so. :/ And yes, Missha BB cream is one of the best, if not the best. I'm into BB creams pa naman as I find it a bit lighter than foundations. But recently, I have found foundations that are as light as BB creams. :) I guess the formulation is getting better
