THE VERDICT:

Wondering what's a Lip Lacquer? It's basically a cool way to call liquid lipstick. Okay, lemme come up with a better, more creative description: Lip Lacquer marries lipstick and gloss, resulting to a high pigment finish and patent shine that's reminiscent of tasteful lacquer finish on ancient wares. How's that? :)

I like using Lip Lacquer on certain occasions, especially when I want a moisturizing texture for my lips; it has a sensual, beautiful texture and kinda' helps me put my sexy on; It's also the kind of lip gloss I prefer wearing just because it is pigmented-I know that this is not lip gloss, but its glossy finish makes it one for me. ;) My only problems with lip lacquer are it feels sticky and heavy on the lips.

Happy Skin's Shut Up And Kiss Me Moisturizing Lip Lacquer is the rebirth of my fave lip product, the lip lacquer: it's light, non- sticky, and I appreciate the watery, hydrating texture. It's the lip lacquer that I've always wanted!

HAPPY SKIN SHUT UP AND KISS ME MOISTURIZING LIP LACQUER IN STRONG AND SEXY IN DETAIL

This new product joins Happy Skin's crowd favorite lip product line; It provides brilliant shine without the weight and stickiness, and promises even coverage in one swipe. At the moment, it comes in three shades: Royal Treatment (Plum), Hear Me Roar (Red-Orange), and Strong And Sexy (Peach-Beige).

Ingredients

Strong And Sexy is a pretty Peach-Beige shade; great for everyday and from casual to office wear. It's a nude-but-not-nude kind of shade and I'm loving the paradox. :D

This lip lacquer has a unique, lovable texture: It is glossy, but without the tackiness and highly pigmented, but without the heaviness. Coverage is medium to heavy and the 'even coverage in one swipe' promise is very true! Despite its semi- glossy finish, this lip lacquer does not bleed around the lips-Happy Skin was able to eliminate stickiness without compromising its staying power! It has a cosmetic scent, something that's pretty familiar to every makeup user but I can't quite describe what it really smells like (you will know what I am talking about when you get to try out this product), but it's the nice kind.

HAPPY SKIN SHUT UP AND KISS ME MOISTURIZING LIP LACQUER IN STRONG AND SEXY IN ACTION

The most notable feature of this product for me is its plush, watery texture. It feels really nice on the lips and makes me feel as if there's a dew drop on top of my lips (yeah, that's the best description for its overall texture). Staying power is okay, but I don't expect great wear time from this product since it's the glossy kind; the fact that it doesn't bleed around the lips is enough for me. No dryness experienced with this product!

Now I've found an affordable lip lacquer that I can indulge in (but you're still in my heart, Chanel, don't ya worry! :D), but without burning my money. I'm thinking of trying out Hear Me Roar next-it looked so lovely in the swatch on the website; I could use me some extremely noisy Red! :D

  1. My sister bought my mom a lip gloss from VMV so I sneakily tried it out. I don't own any lip gloss so I was curious. It was an interesting experience! It was a bit heavy but very moisturizing! My lips looked so luscious but of course, it faded away after an hour or two.

This shade is the type of shade that I go for often. Does it fade nicely? This looks interesting! I will check this out. Thanks for this post! :)

  2. Hello again, Martha! I cannot stress enough how convenient it is to drop by this blog and literally learn something new each time. Having such dry lips, lip lacquer (liquid lipstick or lipstick + gloss) is a good option for me. Thanks for this! ~ Starr

  6. Cool! There are times when I prefer a glossy finish more than a matte one even if it means lip color on my spoon, cup and everything else XD I like how glosses can make my lips pouty and bigger but sometimes I get scared when they make my lips look too big and pouty since I have thick lips :D Sad that this has a cosmetic scent since I don't like that :(

  7. I love matte lipstick, pero sometimes, kapag I want a little change, I go for a little shiny or glossy lips. This one looks healthy sa lips. I am torn nga Ms.Martha, if I will buy a matte lipstick from Mac which is the russian red or I'll buy 2 lipstick from Happy skin. Hehe

  9. That has always been my problem too with lip lacquers. Sometimes, they're so sticky especially when you have to press both of your lips for even coverage. Wow, Happy Skin is truly in their game for the Philippine market today.

  10. I love this! I love its finish, how light it feels and how pigmented. Yun nga lang, syempre, madaling magtransfer sa mug, etc. :) But still, I like it. I have the same shade too, strong and sexy. I find the red one too red for me.
