 THE VERDICT:

Dang, I don't remember the last time I wore Pressed Powder as base makeup. Was it in 1st year college? Probably! I have outgrown this product already because as you age, you tend to need more coverage and most Pressed Powders don't have much of that. I thought that I would never go back to this product anymore until I encountered Pixy UV Whitening Compact Powder Coverlast, a PP that I call "Pressed Powder for adults" because it has very decent coverage that's good enough to address minor skin concerns on grown- up skin such as unevenness, sun protection, and roughness!

PIXY UV WHITENING COMPACT POWDER COVERLAST IN HONEY IN DETAIL

This newest powder to join Pixy's range is makeup + skin care in one. It has Vitamin C and Natural Whitening Powder to gradually whiten the complexion and SPF 20 PA++ to protect skin from UV rays and burning. It has Oil Controlling properties to keep skin matte and fresh. It comes in 5 shades: Cream, Ivory, Natural, Beige, and Honey.

Ingredients

How nice of Pixy to include a separate compartment for the puff. It satisfies the hygiene freak in me so much!

The puff applicator has a flocked side that delivers medium coverage. It delivers the product nicely onto my skin, but I always feel like I'm getting a face scrub when I'm using it. I should get a smoother sponge for this.

Honey is the darkest shade, but it's a shade and a half lighter than my skin tone; I'm glad that it has a yellow undertone and it doesn't look off for my skin tone despite its light shade. It has a smooth, semi- creamy texture that glides on smoothly and evenly onto the skin, but finish is semi- matte. It has a light, powdery scent. Only con is powder is not pressed well onto the pan; I got a nasty crack on it given that it only encountered a light fall.

Face with Kate By Kanebo Cover Concealer For Cover in Natural Beige + Soap And Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Medium

Two layers of the pressed powder

Honey looks a bit fairer on me due to its SPF content, but in actual, it looks pretty okay and decent enough for daily, casual wear. Coverage is light to medium and it really makes my skin look oh-so-smooth; I even noticed that it has pore coverage! Staying power is pretty great: I could go on oil- free for 3 hours in it; I even wear it to my workouts! I use this powder as well if I want to boost the coverage of my CC and BB Creams.

This powder is great for everyday and for women who like it natural because it has good coverage, but breathable texture; Aside from oily and combination oily-normal skin types, it will work on dry skin too because of its semi- creamy texture; All these for a little over 300 pesos only! With this product, I think Pixy is the drugstore makeup brand with the best face bases around!

  1. I loved their Ultimate Makeup Cake and planning to repurchase but I still have a lot of powder bases so I don't think I can buy soon. Pixy is a really good brand! I love their bases lipsticks and even blushers :D

  4. I really need to try Pixy's powder. I only use maybelline or fashion 21 as my face powder. But sometimes they transfer and doesn't stay for a long period of time. Since liquid foundation when top off with powder usually cake on me, I might look ifpixy has 2 way cake powder.

  5. I love their Perfect Matte Two- Way Cake. Affordable and can hide minor blemishes. Texture is nice, too. I recently purchased a lippie from them. I think it's from their semi-matte base line, but I gave it to my sister because it looks great on her. It's nice nude lipstick. :)

  6. Super affordable and I like how it looks so natural on you and not powdery at all, considering that it is powder. I think I won't mind using this on top of bare moisturized face when I am in a hurry

  11. Yey! I am always looking for a pressed powder that is affordable yet it gives me what I need. I always need to look fresh even I am loaded with tasks at the office. I do not have plenty of time to retouch from time to time. If this product can really last for hours then this is the answer to my dilemma.

The packaging is good since there is a compartment for the sponge. There are variety of shades to choose from. Lastly, it is affordable and can be found at the leading department store.

Thank you for this review. :)
