 THE VERDICT:

I've known Bioré for the longest time as a makeup remover brand because they have awesome facial foams and bubble cleansers. In Japan, particularly in Matsumoto Kiyoshi, Bioré is so popular that it occupies about two or three product shelves; you don't need assistance or have to speak in Japanese just to find it!

This super popular Japanese makeup remover has just landed in the Philippines. Yay! No need to ask my relative in Japan to hoard for me anymore. Bioré Philippines brought in 4 of the brand's well- loved removers and I'm reviewing two today: Bioré Cleansing Oil and Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Sheets, two heavy duty makeup removers that remove your makeup completely and in a flash!

BIORÉ CLEANSING OIL AND CLEANSING OIL COTTON FACIAL SHEETS IN DETAIL

Bioré Cleansing Oil is made for medium to heavy makeup users, promising to remove all types of makeup even waterproof mascara. Bioré Cleansing Wipes is a convenient remover made with 100% soft fiber soaked in hydrating essences and cleansing oil, and is made for light to medium makeup users, but claims to remove waterproof mascara as well.

BIORÉ CLEANSING OIL AND CLEANSING OIL COTTON FACIAL SHEETS IN ACTION

The cleansing oil has a light, unique texture: Compared to other oils, it does not feel greasy, doesn't make you feel like you're a hot mess, and it has amazing removing powers: once it touches makeup, you will immediately see it lifting the gunk away from your skin. Bioré said that this oil does not emulsify, but when I mixed water with it, it did. According to Bioré emulsification minimizes the oil's ability to remove makeup quickly and completely, but I don't think that's the case; In fact, this formula helps me get rid of the oil easily from my skin! This product has a light green floral scent, which I'm not the biggest fan of; It's not off- putting, but it's not my cup of tea. :)

The Cleansing wipes are soft, expandable, and sturdy; the solution is a light essence with a tinge of oil (don't worry, it doesn't feel greasy). It removes makeup thoroughly and even with just one wipe; it can remove waterproof mascara, but only certain types of mascara. I love the convenient format of this makeup remover and how generous it is with the solution-it's prolly the richest makeup remover wipe out there! However, it can't remove waterproof mascara thoroughly so you will need the help of an eye makeup remover.

Bioré Cleansing Oil is great for semi- dry and combination oily/normal skin types while Cleansing Oil Cotton Facial Wipe is great for all skin types, most especially dry and oily skin. Only one word to describe these products: FAST; these removers give true meaning to the phrase "remove makeup in one go!"

  2. Tried Biore from the September BDJ box and I love it! I actually wasn't expecting much from the oil cleanser since I assumed it's just the same with others... But boy, was I wrong!
For one thing, it's not as greasy, like you said. Just wash with your usual facial cleanser after and you won't feel any oil residue. Another thing is it's amazing in removing mascara. Maybelline Great Lash for me is the hatdest makeup to remove, but Biore was able to do the job easily.

  3. I have known Bioré as a good facial wash. I would love to try the facial wipe. The mascara i'm currently using is not that hard to remove so i guess the facial wipe can manage that. There are times when we are so exhausted at the end of the day and products that works in a jiffy are just what we need.

  11. Even waterproof mascara? Hallelujah! I stopped using mascara after the whole beauty industry collectively decided to flood proof everything up to my literal eyeballs for the rainy season. Still looking for the grand trifecta of gentle+easy to use+cheap

  12. OMG I need to buy those wipes ASAP! And I love that these are from Japan. They always have the best products when it comes to taking care of your skin especially your face. That's why they always look young and fresh, well aside from the weather.

  13. The cleansing oil really looks light to me, and that's good. :) The wipes seem very effective in removing makeup, but it seems a bit pricey to me. Between the two, I think I'll buy the cleansing oil. :) A good substitute to Bifesta. As for the wipes, I'm still going with Nivea and Celeteque. :)

  14. I also tried the cleansing wipes and I love how it thoroughly removes my make up. What I don't like is the subtle alcohol (?) smell of it.
