 THE VERDICT:

Why go Naked when you can be Nude? What's the difference between the two? The price. LOL!

I know you will all agree with me when I say that Urban Decay has set the standard for neutral eyeshadow palettes with the Naked series; it remains as one of the covetable eyeshadow palettes of the 21st century. However, it's a product that comes at a hefty price tag.

Brands such as BYS are coming up with their own neutral palettes too to offer alternatives to frugal makeup lovers. We have here the Nude series namely Nude 1 And Nude 2; If you can't be Naked, at least be Nude. ;)

BYS NUDE 1 AND NUDE 2 EYESHADOW PALETTE IN DETAIL

BYS' Nude eyeshadow palette series feature earthy, basic, and neutral hues for striking, neutral eyeshadow looks.

These eyeshadow palettes are complete dupes of UD's famous Naked palettes, from the color combinations, some of the shades, and to the packaging; For the packaging, they patterned it after Naked 2. Packaging is tin and feels lightweight, although you have to push the back portion to the front to seal the palette.

Top: Nude 1
Bottom: Nude 2

Nude 1 has a combination of Pink-Brown-Gold while Nude 2 has Copper-Brown-Purple. Nude 2 is better off on morenas in my opinion.

Here's a comparison of Nude 1 vs. Naked. There's little to no difference between the shades on both palettes; At first glance, you would even think that it's the same palette!

Ogle at my swatches! :)

Nude 1

Nude 2

Compared to Urban Decay, Nude 1 and 2 are more metallic, but just as smooth and creamy as the former. Pigmentation is light to heavy. Nude 1 and 2 yield fallout though so tap off excess powder before applying on your eyelids. I also wish that both palettes feature frost finishes like Urban Decay.

BYS NUDE 1 AND NUDE 2 EYESHADOW PALETTE IN ACTION

My look with Nude 1

Lower Lid: Collection
Above Crease: Chic
Lower Lash Line: Vogue
Tear Duct Flap: Fancy

My look with Nude 2:

Lower Lid: VIP
Crease: Midnight
Brow Bone: Selfie

Eyeshadows don't have good staying power so I use primer with them all the time. What's great about these products is the neutrals don't look tacky at all and quality is pretty good.

So if you want to own Naked, but you've always found it too expensive, go Nude instead. ;)

  1. I love your tagline Ms.Martha - "If you can't go Naked, go Nude". Very witty! And I agree Urban Decays Naked eye shadow palette is so expensive especially when you buy it here in the Philippines. I don't have the heart to shed that amount especially if there are dupes out there especially the BYS version! I love the swatches and I love that is way way cheaper than Urban Decay but they have almost the same colors, packaging and I'm sure the quality is not that far from UD. It's really a great alternative for us girls who wanted the Urban Decay so much but doesn't want to break our wallets. I hope they have the version of UD Naked 3 also, I've got to check BYS soon!

    1. Haha thanks!

But if you really want to try UD in the future, I'd still suggest that you go for it because it's one of the best makeups ever made in my opinion.

  2. I instantly fell in love with Nude 1 when I first saw it in Glamourbox IG and signed up for BYS Special Edition. I super love the shades and perfect for beginners to play with in creating eye make up look. Will check NUDE 2 on my next mall visit.

  4. Beautiful! The neutral palette I've been wanting to have is Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, I feel like the colors there are more suitable for everyday use than The Naked or Nude :) but this is so beautiful too!

  6. When I signed up for the BYS Glamourbox, I didn't know what to expect, but I was already wishing to get few eyeshadow since I'm not an eye makeup person. BUT Nude 2 palette is a surprise love! As in I use at least one color everyday because of the color and texture. They're creamy and easy to apply. So yay to Nude! :)

  8. AND you won't playing "Class A" roulette with online/bazaar sellers while trying to score a Naked palette. Unfortunately, none of my travel buddies will ever allow me inside of a Sephora for fear that I might never find my way out again, so this might be the way to go. How can they not have Half Baked though. Then again Chic would probably look the same when applied

    1. Yeah, Half Baked is the best shade in Naked, IMO.

I wish I had my friends with me the first time I entered Sephora. I literally spent 3 hours inside the store at Kuala Lumpur, MY.

  10. I got the nude 2 in the glamour box and I wanted it because it was a dupe. I need to get the 1 now. I might get the naked later on if I really think I need it but for now the dupes are enough.

  12. I've been wanting to get Nude pero can't decide which one. I don't want to get both kasi medyo same nga ng shades. :) Now I think I like the Nude 1 better. Too bad di siya gaanong tumatagal. But well, it's cheaper pa din than Naked. :)
