I'm supposed to fly to the beach this coming APEC week for a bit of relaxation, but due to the laglag bala scam that's plaguing NAIA lately, looks like I'll be putting this vacation off for now; I'm not afraid to be victimized because I know my rights and the protocols in case it happens to me; what I don't want to experience is all the stress that comes with it. Oh, Philippines. When will straighten up!?!!?
Ok, let's just talk about something positive and happy now. FOOD! Question for today is from Maffy:
Hi Martha!
I'm a guy and I go to your blog because I admire your insightful food reviews. That said, maybe you should look into food blogging as well? Seriously.
My question for you is: What are your the best restaurants you've tried? No consideration for price range; just tell me the ones that are part of your hit list.
Thank you.
Maffy
Hi Maffy!
Wow! Another guy reader! That's really cool. :) Thank you for appreciating my food reviews; I do my best all the time.
Man, this is a pretty tough question because I've eaten in so many restaurants already and I can say that Filipinos, in general, are good cooks so this list will take forever! What I'll do is I will list down 5 restaurants that I go back to all the time and are currently stuck in my mind, meaning they're probably the best I've ever tried!
Status: I go back here all the time
- I have been craving for these mouthwatering Wagyu Sticks lately. This quaint Japanese restaurant is all about authenticity and fresh sushi. Dammit. I want Wagyu Sticks right now.
Status: Currently in my mind
- This is one of the true blue French restaurants in Manila. French owner seems to be there all the time, perhaps supervising the cooking in order to maintain the quality of his food; you can actually taste the passion of the owner in the overall quality of Champêtre's food and dang, it's so good.
Status: Currently in my mind
- Well curated food selections. Fresh ingredients. Damn large steak. Stockton Place's 'boutique' menu may be small, but everything is oh-so-good.
Status: I go back here all the time
- When I'm on clean eating mode, I go to Yoree for a low sugary carb, high veggie carb diet. It's also a place of variety, perfect for a Gemini like me and I can eat my heart out in here without feeling too guilty.
Status: I go back here all the time
- Breakfast is beautiful and I can eat it the whole day. Early Bird Breakfast Club shares this sentiment of mine so this restaurant is a staple in my list, not to mention they serve real tasty pancakes!
That's all! What are your 5 best restaurants?

I never tried any of those restaurants you mentioned! HAHAHA Maybe I should be more experimental when dining out. I always opted to play it safe when it comes to food.
ReplyDeleteUsed to be like that, until I discovered the joy of trying out various foods. :)

ReplyDeleteI don't really have a favorite restaurant but I love chicken and pizza places XD Darn, that just shows how much of a teen I am :D I'm not into fine dining or so since... I can't appreciate those kinds of places yet XD I would love to go to that Japanese and Korean place though :D Oh, I just remembered that I and my friends are craving for Bulgogi Brothers since a month ago, we just couldn't find the time to eat out!

DeleteLaglag bala scam will definitely leave a dent to our tourism sector. Anyway I do get hungry with this post hahaha btw, I almost fell out of my chair laughing at myself with your statement "Filipinos, in general are good cooks".
