THE VERDICT:

Everyone's doing the Lip Crayon trend lately and Burt's Bees is one of the new brands to join the wagon. It's a bit chilly now so you would definitely want to clothe your lips in moisture and if you want lightweight moisture and creamy color, this should be your pick!

BURT'S BEES LIP CRAYON IN DETAIL

This fresh product from Burt's Bees promises creamy matte coverage and contains a moisturizing blend of Shea Butter, Kendi Oil, and Jojoba Oil. Comes in six, rich, caring shades.

The packaging is oh-so-pretty and I love the Honeycomb detail on the cap-that made the product feel and look even more pretty.

The lip crayons are unscented, have a melting texture (So don't leave in a really hot area!), and softens lips upon contact-it's perfect for those who want to get rid of dryness, stat.

BURT'S BEES LIP CRAYON IN ACTION

Carolina Coast

- A cool, pale Pink shade.

Carolina Coast looks really pretty in the tube, but unfortunately, this color ain't for me.

Hawaiian Smolder

- A Pink-Rose shade.

Now that's more like it! Hawaiian Smolder is so me. I love how laid- back and 'fresh' this shade is; it's perfect for a Sunday stroll at the park!

These crayons are superbly moisturizing, no question about that; I find that my lips don't dry up-not a single bit-whenever I'm wearing them. However, I have a problem with the full coverage and matte claims; these are not matte; they have a satin finish; I left them on to settle for about 30 minutes and they still had a tinge of sheen so nope, they're not matte to me. For the coverage, these aren't full coverage, but rather light to medium coverage. I expected a lot from this product because of the 'creamy matte' claim, but unfortunately, it didn't come out as Burt's Bees had imagined. On the brighter side, I cannot just ignore its wonderful moisturizing consistency, something that Burt's Bees is really good at when it comes to making lip products so I still see myself using this product. If you'll just erase the matte promise, these are actually good satin lipsticks and I would recommend it to you if you want fresh, lightweight, caring color. Also, if you're a fan of Burt's Bees' lip range, this is a good product to move up to if you want to move on from their lip balms.

  1. I love Burtsbees, they save girls who always suffer from fry lips - i.e ME :D

  2. Since they have the moisturizing properties of a lipbalm but are not matte and not really pigmented, i guess they are more like tinted lipbalms. Still a good product to try though, especially now that the weather is getting colder and our lips are more prone to chapping.
