I was in a public bathroom one time and saw two ladies chatting over work, boys, and other stuff that girls talk about while putting makeup on and sharing it; girl 1 curled her lashes and when she was finally satisfied with the way her lashes pointed up, curler gor passed to girl 2; the bright red lipstick touched one pair of lips and another; noses got powdered with an aging powder puff. I was thinking to myself, they must be really close to share very private stuff with each other and at the same time, I questioned: how close is close?

The bigger question that I'd like to ask everyone, as inspired by that moment, is: Do you lend makeup?

When I was in highschool and early college, I would lend all my makeup from powder to eyelash curler because I did not know any better; I did not know that sharing lipsticks and mascaras can transfer bacteria from one host to another and start an infection, and I did not know that you're supposed to keep intimate stuff to yourself.

Now that I know a lot about beauty and cosmetics, I kept lending to a minimum: I'd only lend very few makeup products, specifically makeup products that are easy to clean such as blush and eyebrow pencil (strictly for eyebrow use only) and under certain conditions like borrower should have okay skin, no signs of breakouts, and no signs of skin conditions; absolutely no lending of makeups that touch the sensitive parts of my face, the eyes and lips, and no lending of sponge! I may sound rude to some, but hey, I'm just taking care of myself!

So what's your stand, sisters? Do you lend makeup? Why or why not?
