 THE VERDICT:

Lately, whenever I'll hit the beauty section of department stores, my brain would automatically look for a cream eyeshadow; I've fully embraced this makeup item now and I can finally say that I can't live without it; can you believe it, I've managed to hit the pan on my fave Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in less than a year and now I need a new one! I found these cream shadows by Shiseido called Shimmering Cream Eye Color while cleaning one of my makeup kit one time and decided to try them out in the meantime; review below!

SHISEIDO SHIMMERING CREAM EYE COLOR IN PK224 AND GR125 IN DETAIL

This lightweight cream eye shadow promises to stay put for up to 16 hours and provides a lustrous radiant finish to the lids while hydrating the skin with Shiseido's Super Hydro-Wrap Vitalizing DE; it comes in 23 shades.

Ingredients

The products come in a pocketable, acrylic pot; looks simple and posh, definitely easy to lug around.

PK224 is an icy Pink shade and GR125 is a pale green with gold flecks; all Shimmering Cream Eye Colors come in a shimmery finish because it's a thing of the Japanese; fyi, you'll rarely find a matte product in any Japanese cosmetic brand because it's not what their women dig.

The products have a smooth, slightly moist consistency, giving it slip; pigmentation is light to medium; they set efficiently and in a mild shimmery finish.

Between the two shades, I prefer PK224 because it's a cute Pink shade that gives me a healthy glow without making my eyes look swollen, plus gives my eyes a nice, radiant effect; GR125 is just an okay shade; it looks nice on the swatch, but so-so on the lids.

On the bright side, staying power is really good; it does not crease, fade, and doesn't turn flaky and dry out the lids; it also serves as a good, radiant base for powder eyeshadow and can be used on top of matte eye shadow to add dimension to it; depending on the shade you choose, Shimmer Cream Eye Color will turn out just fine so I suggest go for the pinks and bolder color; will probably buy it again only when I'm already having my shimmery Pink phase.

  1. Aww. I was hoping that GR125 would look as great on the lids as it does on the swatch

  4. I'm just starting to incorporate eye shadows in my make up look, which is easier to use? Cream eyeshadows or the usual one? Thanks!

  6. They looked natural on you. Which I liked. But surely Shiseido is a bit pricey to rock off. Anyway, there are a lot of brands which are cheaper and great too!

  8. I love cream shadows, because I find one-shadow looks so useful for days when I don't have time to blend and blend. The biggest deterrent for me is the shelf life. The only reason I cling to powder shadows with such vigor is that cream shadows dry up. Storing them upside down has helped a little, but it's a pain in the butt to try to re-moisten them once they've started to harden.

    1. Hi Marielle, thanks for sharing; I find that Benefit's Creaseless Cream shadows have the longest shelf life compared to other brands; my no pressure! cream eye shadow has been with me for 4 years now and it's still doing fine!

  10. I looked it up and found shades I like: Sable - a golden taupe brown, Sunshower - a sparkling copper rose, and Yuba - a creamy beige. Love that it's a cream shadow since I find them longer lasting. I love applying shimmer on the center of my lids for added dimension! :)

  12. I have actually tried the pink one and honestly, I didn't like it. First, it's so pricey. Second it has limited shades. Next, it's super sheer for its price. But, I love the amount of shimmer it has, and it is really creamy. But overall, I wasn't really impressed. :(
