THE VERDICT:

Thea, one of the executives of Bobbi Brown Philippines mused to me that Filipinas are not fond of the color orange because it 'darkens' the skin further; well, it will if you don't find the right orange for your skin type and besides, let's be more proud of our morena skin. :)

Orange is actually a really nice color, a summery alternative to Red and, in my opinion, a more fashionable alternative to hot pinks; its mod look and feel exemplifies fashion to me!

One Orange lippie that I'm digging right now is Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Electric Coral; it's bright, but not tacky and it's a vintage orange that enhances morena skin, but doesn't make it look muddy.

BOBBI BROWN ART STICK IN ELECTRIC CORAL IN ACTION

Electric Coral is a bright warm- toned orange. The only difference between this and my first Art Stick, Harlow Red, is this one's more matte.

There's nothing Coral with Electric Coral; instead, it's a fiery, vintage orange that's so fun, bright, and pretty; it's the kind of orange that makes morena skin look glowing and pretty! If you want to sport an orange lip for summer, this is it!

  1. Wow impressed with the way the orange color suits you Ms.Martha. And I agree that summer vibes are felt using these orange lippie from Bobbie Brown instead of red.

  4. I'm so with you on being proud of your morena skin. I used to wish I was fairer. I did everything, from soaps and creams down to whitening pills. As I grew older, I realized that I should just accept the skin color I was blessed with and don't let society dictate the definition of Filipina beauty (and also it is much cheaper in the long run. Haha). Anyway, I think orange lips flatter morena skin! I'm actually on a hunt for an orange lippie. I've been a mauve brown lip lover for so long, I think I need something more exciting!

  8. I agree it is definitely hard to find the perfext shade of orange for our skin color. I think an alternative of this is my L'Oreal Pure Fire which is also between Red and Orange, but it doesn't shout SUMMER unlike Bobbi Brown's. I love its warm tone and I hope that I can slay it the way that you do. :)
