 THE VERDICT:

Sephora is seriously the brand with arguably the best exclusive makeup products everrr. I've tried most of their makeups, from concealer to lipstick to foundation to eyeshadow to powder and even to bath bombs, and I liked them all. Just recently, I tried their brush and my impression is no different the first time I am introduced to the brand: I like them! Sephora Collection's PRO brushes are premium quality brushes that are great to invest in if you're serious about makeup!

SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO BRUSHES IN DETAIL

High quality brush collection with a mix of synthetic and natural, and classic and innovative tools. Made exclusively for Sephora.

Three out of the four brushes, I don't have yet in my stash and this is why I am excited to use them; judging from the styles of the featured brushes, I'd say Sephora made an effort to improve the existing brushes and had thoughtfully included really useful classics in the collection; this collection has some real good powder brushes! Oh, mind you, these brushes feel really solid, has a bit of weight so they won't wobble as you use them, and don't feel cheap AT ALL.

The best thing about these brushes is they come with vaults. Eureka! Now I don't have to worry about losing and wrecking the shape of these babies!

Btw, if you noticed, my brushes have names; it is because these are gifted to me by Sephora Philippines, but I'm not sure if they offer monogramming as a service; that would be cool if they do, right?

SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO BRUSHES IN ACTION

Sephora Collection PRO Brush Med Shadow #14 (P972.00)

This flat eye shadow applicator is a combination of goat and pony bristles and basically for giving your lids a nice wash of color; if you're meticulous about the quality and the way your brushes feel, you will like this one because it's soft but compact, thus you'll get a more even and pigmented deposit of color on your lids; for me though, for this kind of brush, there are good but cheaper alternatives so better opt for the blender brushes; Sephora's got good ones.

Sephora Collection Ultra Liquid Foundation #83 (P1,642.00)

- This angled flat top is made with synthetic bristles; it's fluffy yet sturdy, and it's compact that it doesn't absorb foundation right into the base of the bristles; that white thing in the middle? It's not for display! It's there to dig through the consistency of foundation, break it, and make it look more even. Check out the finish of one of my thickest foundations, Shu Uemura The Light Bulb foundation:

Wowza! Looks more skin like now!

Sephora Collection PRO Winged Liner #37 (P972.00)

- This synthetic liner is for the winged liner obsessed; however, it feels scratchy on the eye so I use it only if I feel like my winged liner skills are hibernating.

Sephora Collection PRO Angled Contour #75 (P1,642.00)

My favorite in this batch next to Ultra Liquid Foundation brush; it gives the right thickness of contour lines and the wispy ends blurs out contouring products into natural perfection.

My small problem is the brushes take a while to dry up most especially the synthetic ones

Overall, I generally like the brushes I got from Sephora; quality is really good, everything's useful, and can give luxury brush brands a run for their money. If you don't necessarily want to splurge on luxury brushes but can actually shell out a little for them, these are good alternatives: they're not exactly cheap but not expensive either, but quality can pass off as luxury already!

  5. I really wanna own a set of makeup brushes but I dunno whether to buy a set of the same brand or different brand for different brush type. I have the blush, kabuki, and powder brush but I wanna complete them all. Aspiring MUA, hahaha. Thanks for the review though, these brushes seems to be good to invest in. :)

    1. You're welcome. I'd suggest get a set if it's just for everyday use; you'll get to save more; if you're going to use the brushes professionally, then that's the time buying individual brushes is much more favorable because definitely, you have to find the best brushes for work and in my experience, individual brushes have better quality. :)

    2. Ohhh I get your point. :)) Can you recommend any makeup brush set brand/s that I can check out? I will just use it for my own, will be my own make up artist, hopefully! Haha :)

  7. I wonder how it feels to use stuff with my name on it? I'll probably stare at them before using, haha! Oh, i would love to have one or all of those brushes one day! The white thing in the middle of the brush caught my attention,i thought it was there for aesthetic purposes only. Good thing you explained its use.
