 THE VERDICT:

FS Cosmetics is one of the local beauty brands that, according to some readers and followers of mine, have great quality; a lot said that they have really good bases, particularly the powder foundation and bases, and I chose these as my first introduction to the brand. I've been trying the concealer for a week now and it's great to find another good brand of concealer, particularly one that's oh so smooth and creamy!

FS COSMETICS CONCEALER IN SAND IN DETAIL

Features and Shades (formerly Fanny Serrano) cosmetics' is a local brand of pro quality makeups that are good even for daily use. This product promises to conceal blemishes and has SPF 40 PA+++. It comes in 4 shades: Cashew, Chestnut, Sand, and Walnut.

Ingredients

FS confusingly described this product as foundation on their website, but carton says CONCEALER; well, you can use this product both ways anyway!

Sand is a light medium beige with a light yellow undertone; the shade system of FS is quite random and it's like there's only one made for a certain skin tone and I find that the shades are either too dark or too light; Sand is the safest for a majority of Filipina skin tones, I believe, so choose this one if you're in the medium - morena skin range. Also, having only four shades to choose is quite limiting and I wish there will be more. Now you know which part of this product I want to improve on.

On the brighter side, this concealer is very smooth and creamy; it's very easy to blend, doesn't tug on the skin, and doesn't set into fine lines; pigmentation is medium to heavy and is lightly perfumed (perfume doesn't smell cheap!), giving it that luxe feel.

FS COSMETICS CONCEALER IN SAND IN ACTION

Bare under eye

Two layers of the concealer

It's nice to know that I won't be adding more premature wrinkles on my under eyes with this product; consistency is just so smooth and melts upon contact, but doesn't feel oily and heavy! However, if you have dry skin on the under eyes, prep with an eye cream because it tends to highlight dry areas. As you can see, it minimized the look of my dark circles; it doesn't fill in fine lines though, but doesn't sink in them during wear so it's all good. I also find that this is good to use when concealing light to medium spots on the face; won't use it as foundation though as it's too light for me! Staying power is good; it stays on if set properly throughout the day and won't run off.

My verdict is this is a pretty good concealer; no wonder a lot of my makeup- loving readers swear by it; it's affordable, does a nice job at concealing, product is generously sized, and it's super creamy and easy to use, but it would've been perfect if it had a better shade selection and were moisturizing. Still a good concealer for its price as it does its job decently and consistency is well suited to our weather.

  3. I haven't tried this brand yet... (probinsyana problems) but yes, I've seen a lot of good reviews about it especially the lipsticks and its packaging. I really want to try it and considering its price and the good feedbacks about it, I feel like I'll hoard when I go to the metro. LOL. I really am on the hunt for inexpensive concealers that doesn't settle between the lines under my eyes.

  7. The first time I saw this brand at SM North, I thought it was an international brand haha. I'm not aware that this brand is local. That's why I just ignored this brand cos I thought they showcase their product in expensive price, but I'm wrong. Hehe! Would love to try this concealer. :)

  9. I think FS renewed their make up image by making it more look exquisite. It is quite expensive compared to some brands, but their price equates to the quality it provides ;)
