THE VERDICT:

Etude House's been known locally for their makeups and skin care, but I thought of highlighting something different from the brand in hopes of offering and discovering something new; after a brief stopover at Etude House one weekend, I remembered that they have a hair care range so that's what I decided to try last month; I just finished the whole range last week and I'm now ready to give my review on this clarifying, shine- inducing range.

ETUDE HOUSE SILK SCARF DAMAGE PROTEIN SOLUTION RANGE IN DETAIL

Silk Scarf is Etude House's exclusive hair care range; this particular line boasts of having 10 kinds of proteins, 6 kinds of amino acids, and 6 kinds of oil to infuse hair with nutrients that it has lost due to damage caused by environmental elements, frequent washing, and everyday styling.

So I found out that there are two types of lines under Silk Scarf: Moist and Damage Protein Solution, the one that I am featuring today. Moist is obviously for those with dry hair and this one is more of a nutritive solution for any hair type.

The shampoo is clear and does a wonderful job at clarifying the scalp, breaking down debris and any creamy shampoo residue; the conditioner is a rich, whipped cream; both products have a light floral scent that reminds me of freesia. The shampoo is great, but I'm a bit half- hearted about the conditioner because it doesn't make my hair feel super soft in the shower as I expected, but it surprisingly makes my ends look tamed when my hair's completely dry.

The hair mask is like this: it's a pouch with the essence and an elastic band to keep it in place; the packaging instructed to leave it on for 10 minutes and on towel- dried hair, which I did. The mask didn't make my hair soft though.

After a month of trying out the range, I noticed that my hair got shinier and generally, my hair looked healthier, thus I believe this range is meant to fortify hair than soften it; I wish it had more softening properties so it will be a powerhouse hair care range, but you know, there are so many softening hair care lines out there so it's refreshing to find a shine- inducing range that works.

  1. I have tried EH's Silk Scarf Double Hair Mask and I must say that it is the one that could soften the hair. It is very moisturizing and has a nice smell to it plus it looks like a shower cap so you really have the treatment going to the whole hair with the scalp. I highly recommend this for the ones who color their hair, it really made mine smooth and alive.

  12. I have tried the shampoo in the past and it is good. This product has a cult following and many raved about this Silk Scarf of Etude House. I agree with the light scent especially when compared to regular shampoos and treatments even US-branded ones. That's what I noticed with Korean brands, at least those I have tried and sniffed -- they are not fond of loud scents even in Korean-branded perfumes
