THE VERDICT:

Oh, finally; brands are starting to create more and more brow gels; that makes one happy person in the planet and that's me! Brow Gels, for me, are AMAZING products because they can map, define, and color in one go, plus they're designed for PRO use so you'll only get nothing but pro-looking brows.

One of my favorite brands, Bobbi Brown, has just released their very own version in the SS 16 collection; let's check out this one today.

BOBBI BROWN LONG WEAR BROW GEL IN SADDLE IN DETAIL

Inspired by the Long Wear Gel Liner collection, this brow gel promises to stay put for up to 24 hours while delivering color, hold, and definition; it contains Film Formers for pro staying power and Beeswax to nourish the skin and brows; it comes in 8 shades.

This product is in a mini compact; it may not look like P1,400.00 to some, but this is pretty pigmented and it will take you a while to hit pan on it!

Saddle is an almost wooden brown; I was a bit surprised that finish is glossy; pigmentation is medium to heavy and practically doesn't need to be warmed up to work just because it's soft and smooth; texture is almost balm- like.

BOBBI BROWN LONG WEAR BROW GEL IN SADDLE IN ACTION

Bare Brow

One layer of the brow gel

This brow gel has a great finish: it's pigmented, defines brows nicely and naturally, stays put for hours, gives brows a nice sheen, and conditions brow strands and the skin, but texture is more suited to those with intermediate makeup skills already; it's not that easy to work with; I experimented with different ways to work with this product and have come up with this set of techniques that I'd like to share with everyone:

1. The gel has a semi- balmy texture and does not settle right away so it's best to build the product gradually.
2. I found that a light hand and light strokes are the best ways to work it.
3. When your brows begin to look clumped or too shiny, simply grab a spoolie and fluff your brows to get rid of excess product.

Ah, Bobbi's brow gel has a nice finish, really, and I like how it makes my brows look fuller, thicker, and feel healthier; texture is just a little hard to work with so I hope it will be improved next time. If you have this product, just do my techniques for a breezy brow defining experience.

  8. Brow gels irritate me. I do not even know why. Maybe because I do not have the light hand to start with. Pencils had always been the best for me but you made this me think again. I have sparse brows so making it full and neat had always been a priority for me. Output wise, this is very beautiful as I see on the photo but I don't know if this is friendly for newbies or always on the go girls like me. Anyway, Bobbi Brown never disappoints me.

  9. I'm just wondering Ms. M, what's the difference between brow gels and pomade?

    1. Pomade- more pigmented; can substitute as eyeliner

Gels- usually tinted or clear; used to set or slightly adjust the shade of the brow makeup

  13. That's really pigmented! Bobbi Brown has been riding the current cosmetics craze waves very well this 2016. Their recent releases are awesome. :) I think, however, that there are a lot more affordable and also quite performing brow gels in the market. I'd love to try this one out when I have my brow game down pat. :)
