THE VERDICT:

Banila Co, one of South Korea's popular beauty brands, has recently arrived in the Philippines and they brought along Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm, their award- winning product. As you may know, Cleansing Balm (or Cleansing Sorbet) is on the rise in Asia and if you want to see for yourself what the hype is all about, Clean It Zero is a good choice because it's gentle, removes makeup thoroughly, and rinses off easily!

BANILA CO CLEAN IT ZERO CLEANSING BALM IN DETAIL

This cleansing balm is awarded as one of Allure Korea's Editor's Picks; it's a hypoallergenic balm that transforms from solid to liquid, dissolving makeup, grime, and dirt while keeping skin's moisture intact; contains Vitamin C and Papaya extract to keep skin radiant. It comes in the variants Classic (Pink), Purity (Blue), and Radiance (White).

Ingredients

The cleansing balm comes in a tub with spatula - yay!

It's solidified oil that melts upon skin contact; technically, it's just oil, but I can see how it's a bit better than oil as its solid-to-liquid consistency is mess- free and allows for targeted, better cleansing because it doesn't run around like regular oil, plus it's much more travel- friendly. Texture is literally like a balm or sorbet.

BANILA CO CLEAN IT ZERO CLEANSING BALM IN ACTION

I take one and a half scoops to cover my entire face plus 1/4 more for my eyes; yes, I use it to remover eye makeup because it doesn't sting nor cloud my vision, but it's effective on certain waterproof makeups only; some mascaras like Japanese mascaras require the regular lip and eye makeup remover.

This cleansing balm dissolves upon skin contact, doesn't drip, and feels as if it's really dissolving makeup as you work it onto your skin. It is virtually fragrance- free. No breakouts with this one too.

If you love oil cleansers, but find it messy, Cleansing Balm is the solution and Clean It Zero's is great to try!

  1. Wow! I am always finding it hard to remove make up especially my eye liner because it turns out after removing it with not an intended make up remover I became like a rockstar or a panda as the eye liner smudges around my eye area. This is such a relief. Thanks for this!

  3. I've been meaning to buy this for such a long time now. Add to that the fact that they have a boutique at Robinson's Manila (I am very near that mall), it is really calling out to me. Ahh! It's a bit expensive for my liking considering that the first ingredient is mineral oil. I am still enjoying my Biore Cleansing Oil. That one is also mineral oil based. Still thinking about buying this when I run out of my Biore one. Hmmm!

    1. Mineral oil is actually okay and for this product, it's something that you wash off so I don't think it will clog skin, unless you have really sensitive skin. The formula becomes milky when it touches water, allowing for more effective removal. :)

  4. I don't know if it is just me but I notice that it lessens (it does not remove ha) my black head around my nose.

  5. A lot of people swear by this product's cleansing abilities :) I think this would be a great choice for people who always have heavy make up and are always on the go. :) Banila Co. might be new to the Philippine scene but they're gaining a lot of attention! Both their skincare and cosmetics line are impressive. Hopefully they'd be more accessible in the future. :)

  6. The amount of makeup that a small amount of product removed is quite impressive! It's also great that it comes with a spatula.

  10. I can't decide whether to buy this or micellar water now! I just read your reviews on both. Micellar water seems to be a good pick for non-waterproof makeup and this seems to be good for waterproof makeup.
