THE VERDICT:

Aside from Meteorites, Guerlain is pretty well- known for their Terracotta bronzers too; this cult favorite is dubbed as natural, long- wearing, luxurious, and yields a tasteful contour by Guerlain fans. I used to own Terracotta, but I misplaced even before I was able to enjoy it to the fullest and I'm glad I got my hands on the limited edition Terracotta Pause D'Ete, this gorgeous, beautiful Guerlain bronzer that gives bronzes and contours discreetly.

GUERLAIN TERRACOTTA PAUS D'ETE BRONZING DUO IN ACTION

The best- selling Guerlain bronzer comes in a special packaging and a combination of Terracotta's famous shade and an IT summery cheek hue.

Terracotta Bronzers are known for their exceptionally, big, generous packaging; what makes this one special is it made from an "environmentally- sound wooden pack from PEFC- approved sustainably managed forests"(guerlain.com). The compact is a lightly lacquered wood with a solid, luxurious feel; it features magnetic locks that hold the pan and cover together and a large mirror embossed on the latter.

Take time and ogle at this beauty; this limited edition bronzer features the best- selling Terracotta shade in 03, a peachy pink cheek color in the center, and gold overspray to enhance a tan (but it goes away after a couple of uses).

The powders are fine, pigmented yet buildable, and have a pretty strong fragrance featuring notes of tonka bean, orange blossom, vanilla, and white musk; the fragrance can be a bit strong for some and when you take a whiff of it straight from the pan, but it is barely noticeable once the product is on the skin.

The Bronzer has a nutty brown hue while the blush has a light peach- pink hue; if you want to use the two products separately, use a slim angled face brush. When used together, the compact yields a warm, slightly peach glow to the skin.

Bronzer only on my cheek

All the powders used together on my jawline, temples, cheeks, nose, and overall complexion

The thing with this product is it gives you a contour that's there, but not really there, plus the blush in the middle helps deepen my tan even more. The best way to describe the effect of this Terracotta bronzer is it contours and warms up the skin invisibly yet effectively, just like your natural face shadows. Staying power is pretty good. However, if you have dark skin, it may not show up on you and may end up as a highlighter rather than a bronzer.

I like using this for a low- key, casual look or if I have to adjust the tone of my skin discreetly. I wouldn't ask for it to come in a darker shade because its purpose is not only to contour, but to warm up the entire complexion also.

Terracotta Pause D'Ete is great for those who want a super natural- looking contour and those with fair skin and would want a bronzer/contouring powder that won't end up looking too severe on the skin, As for me, I love using it to deepen my skin tone more naturally! And my oh my, look at that GORGEOUS, GORGEOUS product presentation!

  5. Sayang naman ung nauna mong Terracotta. Anyway, this Guerlain Terracotta Pause D'ete Bronzing Duo is super mahal. Hindi kaya ng budget. But you look natural on it, light lang siya.

  7. I love how natural this bronzer looks on you! Ahhhh, this bronzer is packaged in a really classy way. If I could, I would pay for its price for that packaging alone. Luxury brands always have such a sophisticated feel to them (which they probably should have!) :) What do you do when you finish up a tube or a compact of a luxury make up item? Do you throw it out or keep it? :)
