 THE VERDICT:

There's so much buzz surrounding Etude House Wonder Pore Skin Care that when the opportunity to own the set came, I grabbed it without blinking and thinking twice lol. As someone who's addicted to nose strips, enlarged pores have always been my eternal problem and Wonder Pore helps remedy this problem, plus I also noticed that it has mild anti-acne effects. Hurrah!

ETUDE HOUSE WONDER PORE SKIN CARE IN DETAIL

This pore tightening range features Astringentlex and Anti Pore-Dex Complex. It promises 7 effects: deep cleansing, sebum control, pore tightening, restores elasticity, purifying, gentle pH level (pH 4.5) and moisture.

This pretty much the entire collection: I have the facial foam, clay mask, toner, serum, and cream; I'm just lacking the emulsion and powder clay pack in here; I opted for the ready made ultra clay pack for convenience.

Pore Deep Foaming Cleanser- this versatile cleanser acts as a regular facial foam and facial scrub; it has mini, rounded beads that give a gentle scrub that's perfect for twice to thrice a week use. It yields a nice, cooling sensation to the skin.

Wonder Pore Freshner- this is a gentle toner that cleans skin without the sting and dryness.

Tightening Essence- a light, emulsion- like serum with a slight cooling effect.

Balancing Cream- a moisturizing, gel cream that's slightly heavier than the serum and emulsion, but lighter compared to regular creams.

Ultra Clay Pack- a clay mask with charcoal and herb leaf extracts that absorbs oil, purifies, and refreshes.

ETUDE HOUSE WONDER PORE SKIN CARE IN ACTION

The mask is a runny clay mask, something that I've never seen before; I've always been used to pasty, thick clay masks, but this one's not bad because it's more economical, easier to spread, and dries up much quicker compared to thick clay masks. It gives skin a mild tightening effect to help relax tense facial muscles. The crushed leaves in the mixture provide a gentle exfoliating effect and give me the feeling that my skin is being infused with vitamins from tea. However, the leaves are quite hard to rinse off as they tend to stick on the skin.

The cream has a bouncy, moisturizing, hydrating consistency and even if it's pretty light, it still provides good moisture to my skin; I even use this as a night cream.

The Tightening Essence is a runny liquid gel that gets absorbed quickly and provides a mild cooling effect.

After 1 month of usage...

I continued using nose patches while using this range and even if my pores didn't get smaller, what I love about the range is it prevented them from getting much more pronounced than what they are now. I also experienced that the range helps soothe acne flare- ups and even helps my skin heal quickly from current breakouts, if used with a targeted anti- acne range; it's an extra effect that I did not expect, but really appreciate. The entire range has a light minty floral smell that is relaxing and lovely at the same time; nothing overpowering.

TIP: Cover the products right away most especially the creams and essence because their watery, gel texture makes them more prone to evaporation.

One question that may arise from my readers is the products, given their consistency and effect, primarily have alcohol in the respective ingredients lists, therefore they may not be suitable for dry skin. I acknowledge that, but I believe this range is intended for combination oily/normal and very oily skin types so that helps manage expectations; but there are some Wonder Pore products that have little to no oil in the list such as the Freshner, Facial Wash, and Clay Mask so you can try those if you have enlarged pores, but dry skin.

I will surely buy this again because this line gave me smooth- looking skin and a lot of good skin days! If you have oily skin and big pores, I will recommend Wonder Pore. This stuff works!

  1. I've been eyeing this line for month and I'm glad that your review is right on time. Though I think what I need is their AC line first and I will slowly incorporate this to my skin routine :D

  2. I have always been curioused about how etude house's wonder pore line works. I think I'll give it a shot the next time I'll go to the mall. Thank you for the helpful review, Ms. Martha :)

  3. Because of these blackheads and whiteheads that I have I guess, made my pores enlarged as I am using blackheads/whiteheads removal, the black one from Daiso that you need to put on the affected area and wait for it to dry up before peeling it off and voila blackheads/ whiteheads removed. Is that really the reason why?

  8. This is one of my fave lines from EH. The mist is just so good and is very effective for me. What I did is to transfer some on a small bottle so that I can use it in the middle of the day. Blot first, touch up and spray on. It has a brightening effect on it. And oh, that mask didn't last long for me... (maybe I used too much in one usage) but I felt a bit disappointed about it.

  9. I have the big bottle of the Wonder Pore Freshner (toner) and this has been my third. I have been using it everyday since I've read a recommendation for it from a skin care forum. I find this really affordable as it lasts me about six months or more! Now I'm curious with their clay pack.

    1. Thanks for sharing! They have the clay pack mix that you have to use with water, but I opted for the pre-made one for convenience.

  10. This line has always been one of the most raved about products from Etude House! I'm curious about the clay mask because I want to have a feel of its consistency, since the clay masks I use are also quite pasty. Between this line and their AC Clinic collection, which one do you prefer, Ms. Martha? :)

  11. The entire Wonder Pore line is hella expensive, but so worth it! So far I've used the facial foam, clay mask and toner and I love how the products gave my skin a 'glow' even without makeup or highlighters. My breakouts have lessened too esp. when I'm PMS-ing. Haha! I wanna try the serum and cream next! :) Thanks for your review, Ms. Martha!

  12. I used Wonderpore toner back in college. It's really great on skin but didn't help tighten my pores.

  14. Nice! I have enlarged pores on my cheeks near my nose and I don't like them one bit. I tried the ice thing and I guess it kinda helps. I don't think I'll be able to afford getting the entire line, probably just the toner. Hopefully, this works better than my ice trick.

  16. If you stop using the products, will your pores get large again? Right now I use baking soda paste, my skin responds very well to it. Most of my blackheads are gone. I scrub most days of the week and I am using it for 3 months now. my pores don't get blackheads anymore and they stopped getting larger

  19. Oh..so this Wonder Pore is what my K-pop friends have been talking about. It is impossible for a k-pop fan to unlike Etude House, haha! I have lots of pimples way back High school and college but got rid of it already when i started working. But now, I'm not sure if because of stress or what, pimples start to show up again. I will try this deep foaming cleanser and pore freshner, hope those will help me achieve a clear and smooth face. Thanks for this review! :)

  21. I think the packaging is wonderful as it makes it really easy and mess-free! Don't really see my pores getting smaller, but it definitely does reduce the oils on my skin.
