THE VERDICT:
Around the beginning of the last half of 2016, the 2009 version of The Beauty Junkee came back; I found myself frequenting makeup forums more to connect with fellow beauty addicts, discover new brands, and get to know their HGs when it comes to skin care and makeup. One brand that caught my eye is Caked Co., an indie makeup brand founded in Florida just this year. It may be a young brand, but the products are really, really promising!
Their first products are the Lip Fondants, mousse matte lipsticks with intense pigmentation, soft matte finish, and incredible staying power! Happy to have discovered this non- drying liquid matte!

Caked Co. is a vegan and cruelty- free Florida- based company. Lip Fondant is a mousse liquid lipstick with a matte finish. It comes in 9 colors.
Ingredients
One of the things that got me hooked on the brand is the dessert- inspired packaging and concept. It has been a dream of mine to create the same inspired beauty line because it marries two of my favorite things in life: makeup and desserts! The packaging is well- thought out too: it looks cute, but not too saccharine; it still has that sleek touch to it and most of all, it doesn't look cheap!

Legit is a blue- based berry lipstick; it's a gorgeous, gorgeous berry - one that's perfect for the holidays, but isn't the dated kind of berry. It's truly Legit (pun intended)!
Creme dela Creme is a cool toned nude; it's a nutty brown hue.
The products have a soft, mousse texture and buttercream scent that's so delish! Pigmentation is heavy and like all mousse lip creams, it needs to be applied layer by layer to ensure an even finish that won't crack.

cool- toned nude.
I was expecting that it would wash out my skin tone, but it didn't (the light did in this photo lol); it's also a bit brown- ish than expected and I like that; not the biggest fan of nudes, but this is the nude that I'd gladly wear when needed.
Legit
Blue- based berry.
I'm head over heels with this shade! I thought I was already over my berry phase, but this shade confirmed that there's always a special place for a good ol' favorite! This is a universal berry shade, thanks to the blue undertone and it reeks of chicness! Been wearing this everyday ever since I got it!
These lippies have incredible staying power; it can last for a meal with little to no fading, depends on what I eat when I'm wearing it. Texture is a matte with a hint of stickiness due to the mousse consistency, but I find it tolerable. The buttercream scent leaves a light trail after a few minutes after it has settled, but it doesn't make me feel nauseous. I was also impressed with the overall quality of this one because it doesn't make my lips dry, although it has a tendency to highlight flaky areas; to solve this, I just prep my lips with a lip balm before application.
The things that impressed me the most with Lip Fondant are the incredible staying power and true matte but non- drying formula. I'm in love! I'd like to get more colors soon!

Upon seeing the switch napa "wow" ako how pigmented the lipstick are. I like the shade of legit.

ReplyDeleteOmgggg I love both on you! I've been seeing this a lot on instagram but I haven't seen a lot of reviews so I haven't been paying attention to it. I looove the packaging! It's cute and creative but not tacky! :) I'm gonna check out their other colors! I think this one's a good alternative for the Jeffree Star ones? Kahit hindi naman nagkakalayo ang price hahaha

ReplyDeleteI love the packaging, parang ang sarap kainin. I like the shade of Legit, pero sayo bagay pati ung Creme Dela Creme. Plus factor pa ang hindi nakapagdadry ng lips.
ReplyDeleteOne of the brands I would really love to try! I like the Legit better. Feeling ko kasi the creme dela creme is a bit too nude for my liking. Another brand that I'm eyeing right now is the beautybakerie lipwhip! I hope I could see a review from you, to see if it's worth the splurge. :)
