Here's a review on BYS Contour Palette.

THE VERDICT:
Kat Von D Shade and Light is an amazing contouring and highlighting palette and I highly recommend it. However, I know that it is a bit expensive for some so here's some public service for you: BYS Contour is a good dupe for KVD Shade and Light! Swatches and pics below!
WHAT IS IT?
Contour Palette contains 6 universal shades for contouring and highlighting.
TOP: KVD
BOTTOM: BYS
Wait, what? Is BYS a clone of KVD Shade and Light??! Because even the shades look 90 similar to each other, not to mention the orientation of the palette.
L-R: Highlighter and Contouring powders
1- Fair
2- Medium
3- Beige
4- Light taupe
5- Light brown
6- Taupe brown
The powders have a surprising smooth, silky finish; it's not as pigmented as KVD, but layering will do the trick. I use the highlighters on rotation, but for the contouring powder, I use #6 all the time because I find 4 and 5 too light for my skin tone.

The powders have good staying power and can also double as an eyeshadow palette too. The colors can fit light, medium, and dark skin tones and I love that the products complement each other too. I also love that the powders have a matte finish.
It's not KVD Shade and Light, you know, but if you want something that's VERY similar, get this!

I love the shades! Color pay-off seems so worth it! I like palettes/products that has dual purpose. I can use this palette not only as a good dupe for the Kat Von D, but for other purposes as well. I like that the shades are so versatile. It can be used as contour, sculpting, eyeshadow, etc. So hyped to test it out! Thanks for this, Ms. Martha!
ReplyDeleteWoaaaah ang gandang palette, halos parehas nga sila if titignan mo yung picture! Same ang mga colors! Pero hanggang dun lang ako sa bys kasi yun lang ang kaya ng bulsa. Thanks for sharing this ate martha, ang galing mo din talaga pag dating sa mga dupe/substitutes!
